Show J OREM-GENBVA TIMES NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS Notice is hereby given that Orem City, a Municipal Corpor ation will receive sealed bids for the construction and Install ation of approximately 2,250 feet of 8-inch concrete sewer lines, laterals and connections to existing sewer lines, together with necessary manholes and ap purtenances, and for the construction con-struction and installation of ap proximately 1,017 feet of 6-inch concrete sewer lines, laterals and connections to existing sewer sew-er lines, together with necess ary manholes and appurtenances- Said sewer lines to be con structed and located more particularly par-ticularly as follows: (a) Extend the sewer main a- long 800 South Street beginning at a point which is 400 feet East of the center of Section 23, Township 6 South, Range 2 East, Salt Lake Base and Mer idian, which is also a point 400 feet East of 400 East Street and running thence East along the South side of 800 South Street a distance of 2,250 feet to a point in the intersection of 800 South Street and 800 East Street. Said sewer line to be constructed of 8-inch concrete sewer pipe with necessary manholes man-holes and appurtenances. (b) Construct a sewer line a-long a-long 500 East Street beginning at a point which is 635 feet East and 250 feet South of the center of Section 23, Township 6 South. Ranee 2 East. Salt Lake Base and Meridian; thence, run-' ning South along the West side' of 5th East Street a distance of 1,017 feet. Said sewer line to be constructed of 6-inch concrete sewer pipe with necessary manholes man-holes and appurtenances. I i The said sealed bids will be received in the Orem City Hall, Orem, Utah, until 10:00 A. M. on the 12th day of November 1948, at which time all bids will be opened and publicly read a-i loud in Room 1 In the Orem' City Hall, Orem City, Utah. Each bid shall be in accordance accord-ance with the plans, specifications specificat-ions and other contract docu-ments docu-ments now on file with City Recorder, Orland E. Pyne, at Orem City Hall, Orem, Utah, and at the office of L. V. Beck-man, Beck-man, City Engineer, Orem City Hall, Orem, Utah. Copies of the documents may be obtained by depositing $o-00 with the City Recorder Orland E. Pyne, or L. V. Beckman, City Engineer, for each set of contract documents so obtained. The amount of the deposit will be refunded to each bidder or intended bidder who returns such set of plans and documents, in good condition within five (5) days after the opening of bids. The said check or bond shall be given as a guarantee that the bidder will execute the contract in conformity with the Form of Contract included in the contract con-tract documents and furnish bonds as specified within five (5) days after notificaton of the award of the contract to the bidder. Bert Skinner Skin-ner and Bert Smith were in charge of the games. A pot-luck lunch was a feature of the evening's ev-ening's entertainment. The Bishopric met with the Relief Society officers and teachers on Monday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs- Don Ivie. Plans for the coming season seas-on were discussed. Bishop Jameson Jam-eson and his counselors, Leno Martin and Floyd Johnson each spoke briefly. The M-Men and Gleaners were entertained at a fireside chat at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Laird Billings. Darr Harward, recently recent-ly returned from the Central Pacific mission was the main speaker. Estella Nishemora and Lily Hige spoke of their homeland, home-land, Hawaii. Miss Lena Gerber arrived this week from her home in Victoria, British Columbia. She is staying at the home of her sister, Mrs. Floyd Johnson. After Af-ter visiting here for a few days yhp will go to Los Angeles to join her mother. Glade Hall of Vernal attended the welcome home testimonial for Darr Harward on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Afton Harward entertained at a dinner party on Sunday in honor of their son Darr. Guests present were Mr. and Ms. H'lton Robertson, Mr. and Mrs. Bories Watanobi, Mr. and Mrs. LaVar Harward, Madeline Mad-eline Allred, Lily Hige, Estella Nishemora, Alice Uchida, Mas- ayo Ono, Gladys Kondo, bum-iko bum-iko Iwasa and Glade Hall. Mary Ellen Pawlowski was hostess at a shower in honor of her sister-in-law, Lorna Evans, on Friday evening. The guest of honor received many lovely gifts. Games and refreshments helped make a pleasant evening.
