Ordinance Number S3 entitled "An Ordinance of Orem City, Prohibiting the Sale or offering for Sale of Any Commodity, Upon Up-on the First Day of the Week Commonly Called Sunday, Excepting Ex-cepting Those Commodities and Articles as Herein Set Forth." which was passed by the City Council of Orem City, the 23rd day of July, A D. 1947, and the whole thereof is hereby repealed; repeal-ed; provided that this ordinance or any part hereof shall not be construed so as to effect any right or liabilities or action now pending, or any causes of action now existing that may have accrued ac-crued before this ordinance shall take effect, and provided that rpi?inr 6 M O I i m rw 44 (A) GtKirasUd byN.' Section 2: If any part of this ordinance shall be held invalid, such decision de-cision shall not affect the validity vali-dity of the remainder of the ordinance. Section 3: In the opinion of the City Council of Orem City, a public emergency exists in conn. lion with the matters herein contained, contain-ed, and it is necessary to the health, peace, safety, and general gener-al welfare of tr(e inhabitants of Orem City that this ordinance become effective immediavjy. NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby ordained that this Ordinance Ordi-nance shall take effect immediately immedi-ately upon its passage and publication. publi-cation. Section 4: This ordinance shall be pub lished once in the Orem-Geneva Times, a newspaper of general circulation in Orem City. The plight of the Greek relief project was raised at a meeting of the cham ber board of directors this week by Victor Anderson, and the board decided on relieving the situation. F. S. Davies, chamber prest dent, responded by pledging to pay for the turkeys and Victor Anderson volunteered to pay for the use of the Lincoln high gym. The affair is scheduled for around March 1. Each club in the city will be asked to sell not less than 50 tickets for the dinner-dance. Orein merchants will be asked to c'onate prizes to be given. VERMONT BOY SCOUTS FETED AT BANQUET Vermont ward feted approximately approxi-mately 110 Boy Scouts and their parents at the annual Boy Scout banquet held Wednesday evening even-ing at the Sharon ward hall.
