Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Lwry have returned home from Alberta, Alber-ta, Canada. They were called to Canada on account of the aeath of Mrs. Lowry's sister. They were away about ten days. Mrs. Orvil Ashton spent the past week visiting with her sisters sis-ters living at Paragoona and Cedar Ce-dar City, while her husband was deer hunting. Laura Perry and Anna Ashton attended the Yeshara Club (Lady Missionary banquet held in Salt Lake City last week. Members came from Provo, Salt Lake, and Logan Chapters. Mrs. Elaine Allred Hawkins is at the Utah Valley Hospital, recovering from a major operation opera-tion performed the first of the week. Mr. and Mrs. Ferris Olsen and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ashton are both rejoicing over the safe arrival ar-rival of baby boys born last week. The new babies are grandchildren grand-children of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Thom-as Ashton- Mrs. Alton Robb entertained Sunday at her home in Maple-ton Maple-ton at a family dinner. The occasion occ-asion was in honor of her mother Mrs. Heber Tippetts, whose birthday anniversary was that day. Congratulations and best wishes wish-es are extended to Mr. and Mrs-Bert Mrs-Bert Rodgers (Marie Brereton) Mr. and Mrs. Dean Perry (Heva Mae Wall and Mr. and Mrs. Garn Penrod (Shirley Rae King who were married last week. School patrons and taxpayers of Grand View met with the school board in the church last week- The purpose of the meeting meet-ing was to hear the results of the soil tests recently conducted at the proposed school site and to present the plan of the building build-ing to the patrons. Those present voted to accept the site and the building plan and requested the board to start construction of the building as soon as pssible. Mrs. Myrl Day is still unable to participate in church and social activities. She is suffering from effects of the severe burns she sustained when a pressure cooker exploded. The county board meeting of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers will be held in the Pioneer building in Sowiette Park Satur day, Nov. 1. Mrs. Laurel Gibson, captain of the Grand View camp will be in charge of the lesson. Mrs. Annie Buckner and Miss Alta Buckner visited with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Buckner of Ephraim over the weekend.
