The commission found that about 50 per cent of the felonies committed in the state are related to the consumption of alcohol and that about 85 per cent of the commitments for misdemeanors mis-demeanors have such relation. Of the inmates admitted to the reformatory for women, 25 per cent are alcoholic, and 26 per cent of the cases handled by the Boston Council of Social Agen cies are due to alcoholism. Thorny Palestine Question Zionist leaders have disclosed that they will seek to hand over the Palestine problem to the United Nations General Assem bly in September unless the British abandon their policy of clamping down on Zionist forces in Palestine. They are even re- luctently turning to partition of the country as the only practical solution of the controversy. Highlighting the issue is the proposed pro-posed admission to Palestine of 100,000 homeless Jews from Europe, a move bitterly opposed by the Arabs. Britian, to whom the League of Nations" Issued the mandate over Palestine, has re fused to order the admission of the 100,000 Jews unless the United States guarantees mili tary backing. vest, John, we're a natom OF BUJCDER-S.
