Living Issues: U is so now that oue cannot express tlvMr patriotism to the extent of dlsplaylnga 4xt flag without patronizing the bunting trust. The Park Record, in sp.-aking of Spain buying silver, says "the ncniy has, in short, been making a higher market price for a surplus American product." Payson Globe: It seems to us that the war is dragging along rather slowly for some cause or other. We wonder if the war dogs have anything to do with it? The American people accept the censorship of thj war news in evident good grace, a-though a-though they have always guarded tuo-it jealously liberty of speech. Piute Pioneer: It is something new for a war fleet to come all the way across the ocean and then avoid a battle with a hostile fleet, but that seems to be the program of the Spanish Span-ish fleet now in Cuban waters. Randolph Round-up: The government govern-ment has been too lenient with correspondents corre-spondents iu regard to news concerning concern-ing the movements of troops or ships, but now the censorhip seems quite effectual. What is now needed is a censorship on those terrible fake wr stories that arc so frequently sent out lately. Sallna Press: To show how people get exciter! over ome of the frequent premature war "news," the story is current that a certain man was so worked up over the reports from Manila Ma-nila some time ago that he spent four hours trving to locate the Philippine islands on his wife's bazar pattern, under the impression that he. had before be-fore him a map of the Pacific ocean.
