A., the (jiieslion of iioltlin n County Fair u.t I'nivo some time in November, was inlio-dueeil inlio-dueeil ly I'resiileiit Hinckh y uml some discussion loo), tin; In -ml of which, as far as the men were concerned, seemed to he that the scheme would not get their full support and union. One gentleman gentle-man thought it might detract from the M. I. A, work proper; another believed it better to con-! line it to the several cities exclusively. ex-clusively. Others could see no use for it except as a money making scheme requiring lots labor. One attempted to shuttle the entire responsibility of it on the ladies. In fact, so lew were enthused with it, thai it would almost seem folly to attempt the enterprise. There was no such enthusiasm and unity ' purpose as was shown by Sp) mgville's olheers and citizens, except in so far as the lady representatives present were concerned. They promised full co-operation and support, be it said, to their credit. We are still of the opinion that a grand fair could be had, which iij soon as the preliminary steps shall have been taken ami the grandeur of its possibility and the emulative quality of its conception con-ception or object shown, that (Very otlicer, member ami! citizen of Utah County, will give the matter their unqualified support. sup-port. We believe every business man will contribute prizes for competitive contests of an emulative emu-lative and enobling nat ure. We believe every farmer will be pleased to contribute to the ex hibits, and that a stock exhibit j could be had that would compare com-pare with State Expositions. We are sure that our ladies will enter into the spirit of their depaitments of the Fair in n way that will, indeed, outshine anything of the kind ever had in the State. We feel sure that the whittling boy, the studious girl, tho busy artisan ol all walks of life, would not only step in his rush and exhibit his or her skill, but will render both personal per-sonal and financial aid to its promotion. pro-motion. Our local railroads would undoubtedly make special fates, both in their passenger and freight departments if necessary. neces-sary. Our newspapers would certainly givo the enterprise their unqualified support. Union must first be secured in its original promotors before success shall be assured. If this is done then Springville's grand fair will bo thrown a long way in tho shade and success is bound to ensuo. Tho united support and sympathy of the various county ollicers will insure in-sure tho union of every member of tho association, every citizen of tho county, and tho consequent conse-quent success of the enterprise, loth financially and educationally. education-ally.
