Deer Valley Deer Valley Resort has no new snow accumulation, keeping the base depth at 67 inches as of Thursday, February 7. The resort is operating with 17 lifts, 81 runs and all six bowls Legal Tender, Wizard and Reward runs will be unavailable intermittently intermittent-ly for Olympic slalom training Check with Ski Patrol for any updates. Parking is no longer avalable at Snow Park Lodge through Feb. 25. Skiers must use local transit or the U S 40 park and ride lot. Full-day lift tickets costs $65 for adults and $35 for children. The Canyons reported no new snow, bringing the set tled snow depth to 65 inches. Larger snow depths can be found at higher elevations. eleva-tions. Thirteen lifts covenng eight mountains and 138 runs are in full swing featuring Dreamscape Peak 5, Golden Eagle. Daybreak and CIA terrain park with 3 hits and 10 rails. Uorgoza Park Gorgoza Park is located off the Rasmussen frontage road by I-80. One-ride tickets cost $6 for tubers ages 7 and older, $3 for kids 3-6. Two-hour tickets cost $10 for 3-6 and $17 for 7 and older. Gorgoza is now offering expanded activities including lift-served tubing. Mini Z snowmobile rides and the new lift-served lift-served jib park. The park is open weekdays from noon to 8 p.m. and on weekends week-ends from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. For more info., call 658-2648. V hite Fine Touring Center White Pine Touring Center s cross-country track is located at the Park City Municipal Golf Course. Twenty kilometers of track, including the farm, are now open for skiing The 5K and 3K tracks are also open. The touring center encourages encour-ages early morning skiers to let the groomers roll the track before heading out. The cross-country track is open 9 am to 6 p m. daily through the season. For more information on season passes and individual day passes, call the center at 615-5858. Vasateh-Cache National Forest - Mirror Lake Highway, S R. 150, is only open through mile marker 15, Soapstone Basin. Grooming on the Beaver Creek trail will take place every Thursday. A warming hut, near the Mirror Lake Guard Station is up and running Friday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dogs are allowed on odd-numbered days. The Forest Service would like to remind users that recreation passes are still needed and fines will be imposed on those vehicles who fail to display a pass For those using the backcoun-try, backcoun-try, the Forest Service would like to urge recreationists to use the avalanche forecast numbef before ventunng outdoors, 658-5512 Also, recreationists are encouraged to contact the avalanche center if an avalanche is triggered to report the safety status of the involved party, at 1-800-662-4140 For up-to-the-minute information call the Kamas Ranger District at 435-783-4338. Avalanche Forecast' Cross-country skiers, snowshoers. snowmobilers and backcountry skiers are urged this winter to contact the Utah Avalanche Forecast Center, 658-5512, before venturing ven-turing into the backcountry. As of Thursday, February 7, the Avalanche Center reported no new overnight snow Snow conditions are good on shadowy slopes. Conditions are starting to stabilize, however, the winds are picking up which is cre ating weak bonds between new and old snow. Human-triggered avalanches are still likely, especially on slopes greater than 35 degrees. Recreationists are urged to ' be award of changing avalanche conditions and to use good avalanche skills when picking a route Avalanche danger is moderate, but extreme caution is advised. If an avalanche is triggered, the avalanche center would like involved parties to ; phone 1-800-662-41 40 to report safety status and alleviate rescue efforts.
