Published in The Park Record on March 28 & 31, 2001. PUBLIC NOTICE The Division of Drinking WaterfDDW), Utah Department De-partment of Environmental Quality herewith publishes a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the construction of a drinking water project for Gorgoza Mutual Water Company in Summit County tilled "Drinking Water System Repairs and Improvements Improve-ments Project". The Drinking Drink-ing Water Board for the State of Utah has authorized author-ized a federal SRF loan to Gorgoza Mutual Water Company. The principal work to be accomplished with the project is the renovation ren-ovation of existing well number 4R and possible construction of a new well. A copy of the Environmental Environ-mental Assessment prepared pre-pared for this project is available at the below listed list-ed address of the Division of Drinking Water and at the Offices of Gorgoza Mutual Water Company at 3100 West Pinebrook Road, Suite 1500, near the PinebrookJeremy Ranch Exit of I -80. The mailing address is 7950 Pinebrook Road, Park City, Utah 84098, telephone tele-phone (435)649-7948. The text of the FONSI follows fol-lows the DDW address. Division of Drinking Water, Wa-ter, Utah State Department Depart-ment of Environmental Quality, 150 North 1950 West, Salt Lake City, Utah 84116-4830 Telephone No. 801-536-4200 Finding of no significant impact, As required by the guidelines guide-lines for the preparation of environmental impact statements, an environmental environ-mental review has been performed on the proposed pro-posed State of Utah, Division Divi-sion of Drinking Water (DDW) action below: Project: Proj-ect: Drinking Water System Sys-tem Repairs and Improvements Improve-ments Project, Water Source Renovation and Possible New Well, Gorgoza Gor-goza Mutual Water Company, Com-pany, Park City, Utah. Office Of-fice Location: 3100 West Pinebrook Road, Suite 1500. Mailing Address: 7950 Pinebrook Road, Park City, Utah 84098. Project Number: 3810-3AD8-3F012 Total Estimated Esti-mated Cost:$351 ,000.00 StateLocal . Share: $351,000 Federal State Revolving Fund (SRF) Loan $0.00 Local Share. The proposed project is the renovation of existing Well 4R and possible construction con-struction of a new well located lo-cated in the Pinebrook Subdivision of Park City, Utah. The soil formation in Well 4R at approximately 500 feet below the ground surface sustained a partial collapse. Soil from the formation for-mation sloughed into the well. The well had to be shut down because the soil particles were being pumped into the distribution distribu-tion system. The e project scope includes placing a smaller diameter casing in Well 4R, grouting the well to seal off the formation where the collapse took place, drilling the well about 500 to 800 feet deeper to a depth of 1 ,500 feet or more, and redeveloping redevel-oping the well. If the same capacity can be obtained from the well, then a new, supplemental well would not have to be drilled. Other facilities; such as a booster pump station and interconnecting piping will be designed after the Well 4R has been redeveloped. The property where the well drilling and development develop-ment will occur is in the southeast quarter of Section Sec-tion 11, Township 1 South, Range 3 East, Salt Lake Base and Meridian. The renovated and new facilities will help provide a safe and adequate drinking water supply for the water users whose water services are connected con-nected to the Gorgoza water system. Water company officials have indicated in-dicated that water rates will not have to be increased in-creased to pay for this project. An Environmental Assessment has been made of the project and project site. The review process indicated that no significant environmental impacts would result from the proposed action. Consequently, Con-sequently, a preliminary decision has been made not to prepare an environmental environ-mental impact statement.(EIS) This action ac-tion is taken o the basis of a careful review of the engineering en-gineering reports, environmental environ-mental information docu ments, and other supporting support-ing information. The documents docu-ments are on file and available for public review at the Division of Drinking Water (DDW) at the above address and at the address shown for Gorgoza Gorgo-za Mutual Water Company. Compa-ny. Questions may also be directed to Kenneth E. Wilde, P.E., Environmental Environmen-tal Engineer, DDW, at 801-536-4200. Comments supporting or disagreeing with this decision may be submitted to the Division of Drinking Water for consideration con-sideration by said Division. Divi-sion. After evaluating the comments received, the agency will make a final decision; however, no administrative ad-ministrative action will be taken on the project for at least thirty) 30) calendar days while advertising the Finding of No Significant Impact.
