C&S Creative wins two Summit Awards C&S Creative Services, a Park City advertising and public relations firm, won two awards at the 1997 Summit Creative Awards competition recently held in Portland, Oregon. The awards were garnered for two posters created by C&S, one for U.S. Freestyle Team member Trace Wor-thington, Wor-thington, and the other for the Park City Silver Mine Adventure's Tunnel of Terror" Halloween Event. The Summit Creative Awards recognize rec-ognize outstanding work by advertising advertis-ing agencies throughout the U.S. and Canada with annual billings of $25 million or less. Award criteria includes creativity, innovation and design excellence. Robyn Kratzer wins SBA award Robyn Kratzer, president and founder of RWI Communications is the state's first public relations practitioner practi-tioner to win the Utah Small Business Administration "Media Advocate of the Year" award. The firm was located in Park City until recently, and provides full-service marketing and public relations rela-tions services. Kratzer was nominated for the award by Zions Women's Financial Group and was selected from a field of candidates. Award nominees were judged on their media efforts to increase public awareness of small business' contributions contri-butions to the Utah economy through placement of features, news and editorial edi-torial coverage. Volunteer work and community service related to promotion promo-tion of small business was also a judging criteria. Kratzer will be presented the award at the Small Business Awards Luncheon, scheduled for May 19 at the Joseph Smith Building in Salt Lake City. More Briefs on PageA-11 Area has one of two restaurants and four of 11 lodging winners in state by Bruce Lewis OF THE RECORD STAFF The American Automobile Association has presented four lodging properties and one restaurant in the area with its Four Diamond Award, signifying that they meet the highest standards of the association. According to AAA's Rolayne Fair-clough, Fair-clough, Public Affairs and Legislative Analyst, Ana-lyst, a total of 11 lodging properties and two restaurants across the state earned the top rating. Local lodging winners included The Homestead and the Huckleberry Country Inn in Midway, and the Stein Eriksen Lodge and the Silver King Hotel in Park City. The local restaurant winner is Stein Eriksen Lodge's Glitretind. "These awards are a help to our AAA members. They know the Four Diamond rating means they are visiting a top-quality property," said Fairclough. These presentations mark the 14th consecutive con-secutive year that the Stein Eriksen Lodge has won the rating, and the 10th straight year for the Silver King Hotel. The Glitretind has now earned the rating for two consecutive years. According to AAA, the awards recognize recog-nize consistent high levels of quality and service, and are presented only to establishments estab-lishments that significantly exceed AAA's requirements. f. Local Internet service provider upgrades staff, modems by Bruce Lewis OF THE RECORD STAFF DirecTell, a Park City Internet service provider, has hired a new staff member and upgraded their modems to the new worldwide standard for 56 KBps service, V.90. Joining the staff is Keith Wilson, who received his degree in Secondary Educa tion, Math Education and Computer Science Sci-ence from Brigham Young University. Wilson Wil-son is currently working on a master's degree in Computer Information Systems. Wilson is also a Novell Certified Network Net-work Administrator, an A Certified Computer Technician, and has experience in computer support, computer training, hardware and consulting. According to DirecTell owner Kathy Dopp, several customers whose home modems comply with the new standard have reported connect speeds of up to 50 KBps, a 5 KBps increase from the earlier X2 standard. She said that the newest stan dard is the fastest available.
