Also pictured (below right) with Utah Department of Wildlife Resources employee Dana Dewey is Robert G.Valentine (right) from the Utah Reclamation Mitigation and Conservation Commission. Construction of a new hatchery was deemed necessary in order to replace the current cur-rent hatchery's worn-out concrete raceways, and to increase annual fish production. The new fish hatchery is expected to increase annual fish production for Utah's waterways by 60,000 pounds, a 75-percent increase from the current 80,000-pound annual figure. The rainbow, brook and cutthroat trout produced by the hatchery are used to stock the Strawberry Reservoir, the upper Provo River, the high mountain lakes in the Uintas and elsewhere. else-where. Actual reconstruction on the new fish hatchery will begin this July, and the new facility facil-ity should be up and running by Sept. 1999. The hatchery will be closed during the reconstruction recon-struction period. Symphonic Convergence May brings music to the mountains.
