Now is the chance to do all those things you told yourself you were going to once all the snow melted. Well, it's gone (for the most part), and the great outdoors are begging each and every Parkite and visitor alike to get out and enjoy everything our surrounding sur-rounding area has to offer. In order to keep the great outdoors out-doors great, plan to participate in the Earth Day Celebration this Saturday, May 31. Take along the kids and friends and get involved in thinking globally and acting locally. Encourage your neighbors to participate in this very worth- Kimball extends hours For the 1997 Summer Season the Gallery Store and art studios stu-dios at the Kimball Art Center will have new extended hours beginning with the monthly "First Friday Gallery Stroll" on June 6. Operating hours from Monday through Thursday will continue at 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. However, customers and students stu-dents will now be able to shop and work later on Friday and Saturday evenings until 8 p.m. For our leisurely Sunday users, the doors will continue to be open from noon until 6 p.m. The extended summer hours on Friday and Saturday make it easy to take in one of our fine exhibits or shop the Gallery Store before or after a fine dining din-ing experience on Park City's Historic Main Street. Along the lines of keeping our planet healthy for our kids and their kids, as well as your own personal health, the Yarrow Hotel will be the site of EarthSave Park City: a lecture by John Robbins. The lecture will take place at 7 p.m., and Mr. Robbins will be speaking on "Reclaiming Your Health." To find out more about this informative lecture, call 645-0100. 645-0100. Another activity signaling that summer has arrived is that the Muckers, Park City's very own rugby club, can once again be found taking on top teams throughout the wester U.S. many weekends throughout the summer in City Park. If you're interested in getting involved with the Muckers or would like a schedule of their matches, give them a call at 647-9118. Finally, the Park City Film Series invites locals and visitors to the screening of Prisoners of the Mountain, this Saturday, May 31. This Academy Award Nominee for Best Foreign Film was also the winner of the audience award at the 1996 Cannes Film Festival. Prisoners of the Mountain is in Russian with English subtitles and begins at 8 p.m. in the Santy Auditorium. The film is rated R. Aside from these scheduled activities going on, it is also a great time to get outside and take a ride on the Rail Trail, lose a Titleist or two at one of our fantastic fan-tastic Park City or nearby golf courses, or head over to the Park City Racquet Club for family activities. They have various programs pro-grams throughout the summer, including swimming, basketball and, of course, tennis.
