Show PCP to hold auditions for children's show Park City Performances will be holding auditions for their Young Children's Theatre Production of The Velveteen Rabbit on March 9 and March 10 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at The Egyptian Theatre. This play will be Presented on April 9, 10 and 11 at The Egyptian Theatre and will be directed by : . Val Thumell. There are 12-15 speaking and chorus parts to be filled. Violin prodigy to perform with Utah Symphony At 19 years old, Corey Cerovsek has created a reputation for himself among musicians who are much older, as an extremely talented violinist. From the moment he began to talk and sing and then play, Cerovsek has established himself as a musical prodigy. He will be performing one of the most challenging concertos in the violin repertoire, Niccolo Paganini's Violin Concerto No. I, when he joins the Utah Symphony on March 13 and 14 at 8 p.m in Symphony Hall. The concerts will open with The Fairy's Kiss: Divertimento by Igor Stravinsky and end with Beethoven's Symphony No. 4. Coupled with Cerovsek's virtuosic playing, these works will make for a memorable evening of beautiful classical music. Silverstein will give a preconcert pre-concert lecture at 7:15 p.m. and all concert patrons are invited to attend as the conductor gives some insights into the works that will be performed. Tickets are $lO-$30 and are available at the Utah Symphony Box Office, 533-NOTE. Students with a current ID can purchase tickets for $5. This concert will also be performed on March 12 in Ogden at the Browning Center for the Performing Arts on the Weber State University campus. The concert begins at 8 p.m. and tickets are available from the Ogden Symphony and Ballet Association at 399-9214. The conference, designed for writers from novice to veteran, will feature nine morning workshops as well as afternoon panel discussions and lectures. The general public is invited to join conference-goers at afternoon and evening readings by faculty and visiting writers. Betsy Marston, editor of High Country News, will teach a non-fiction non-fiction workshop. Conference registration includes the opportunity to meet in a private manuscript consultation with a member of the staff. Tuition to the conference is $340. University of Utah credit can also be arranged. Workshop enrollment is limited to fifteen students per class on a first come, first served basis, so organizers urge writers to register early.
