Show 1 Page A6 Thursday, August 2, 1990 Park Record Planners grant final design approval to Mont Cervin II ! by SENA TAYLOR ! Record staff writer Mont Cervin II, a proposed 21-unit condominium project in Deer ! galley, received approval of its con-jj con-jj ditional use and final design review U jijly 25 by the Park City Planning CJ Commission. h tThe project is located on parcel F ; of Silver Lake Village, 7540 Royal ; Street East. It consists of 19 residential residen-tial units of 1,000 square feet or less, and two units of 1,500 square feet. That size equates to 11 residential equivalents. Although no commercial space is proposed for the development, its proximity to the Silver Lake Lodge, Stein Eriksen Lodge and the Olympic Olym-pic Conference Center has required that common walkways and landscaping land-scaping be provided for pedestrian and skier access. In reviewing the proposal, Planning Plann-ing Commission Chairman Ron Whaley said it was "excruciatingly important" that the amenities in the master plan complement the foot traffic travelling to adjacent commercial com-mercial areas. "This certainly needs to be a pedestrian village," said Whaley. Mont Cervin II, as well as its forerunner Mont Cervin I, are part of the Silver Lake Village Master Planned Development, approved in December of 1987. Silver Lake Village, when built out, will include 90 residential units and 27,280 square feet of support and retail commercial commer-cial space to be divided among seven parcels. Planners anticipated that the number of units designated to each parcels would vary slightly according accor-ding to sepcific development requests. re-quests. Mont Cervin II was originally original-ly anticipated to have 12 residential unit equivalents and 1,440 square feet of commercial space. As currently proposed, Mont Cervin Cer-vin II will be three levels with lofts included on the fourth level. The height of the building will be 53 feet, which is six feet below the maximum max-imum height allowance for Silver Lake Village. The design of the building will be similar to Mont Cervin I on parcel E, but smaller in scale. The master plan for Silver Lake Village requires 1.5 spaces per unit equivalent in underground structures. Twenty-two Twenty-two parking spaces are proposed to meet this requirement. City planning staff members have brought up concerns about public access, ac-cess, and have required that an eight-foot common walkway along Sterling Court tie into the pedestrian walkway from Stein Eriksen Lodge. Due to height and utility concerns, the staff has dropped a requirement for a bridge to be constructed over Sterling Court between Goldener Hirsch and lots F and H. Developers of the project have been required to landscape areas damaged during construction. Although no landscape plan has been submitted to the city, a plan will be required before the building permit will be issued. City planning staff members recommended approval of the pro ject under the condition mat iinai common walkways and landscape plans meet their approval. They also said the development needs to meet the requirements of the city engineer, fire marshall and sewer improvement district. Planning Commissioner Bruce Erickson made the motion to approve ap-prove the conditional use and final design review, and Dick Lueck seconded it. Planning Commissioner Diane Zimney abstained from the vote to avoid a conflict of interest. :.; PARK CITY COUNCIL MEETING SUMMIT COUNTY, UTAH ; AUGUST 2, 1990 PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of Park City, Summit County, Utah will . hold it's regular public meeting, at the Marsac Municipal Building, 445 Marsac Avenue, Park City, Utah for the purposes and at the times described below on Thursday, August 2, 1 990. But the girlfriend said she didn't need their assistance and the brawl ended end-ed peacefully obviously chivalry hasn't died, though at times it may be unnecessary. Park City police are on the lookout for two men who drive through local neighborhoods selling "cheap" stereo equipment from the back of their van. A week ago they were reported in the Prospector neighborhood and one month ago were seen in Ridgeview. They allegedly tell prospective customers that the merchandise is stolen, so they can offer the low, low prices (a common marketing m.o.). The van is an older model with paneling panel-ing and rough spots. The two men are described as Caucasian with long hair. Anyone with information may call police at 649-9369. A man described as either "schitzophrenic or delirious" was reported wandering past Three Kings Condominiums July 30. When police arrived, the individual could not be found. On July 24, a two-year-old girl cycled around the bend of Monitor Drive, just long enough to panic her parents who had notified police of her absence. On July 30, a car fire broke out near the Taco Maker restaurant on Bonanza Drive. Fire department officials responded, and were able to quickly quench the hot spot. Viewers watching their cable television channels were interrupted July 30 when a large truck snagged a cable on Empire Avenue, pulling it partially par-tially down. Friendly fenders collided on Main Street July 29, when two ac-quaintences ac-quaintences locked bumpers. The vehicle owners told police they would handle the matter between themselves. There were eight watering violations reported during the July 24-31 week. Parkites at each residence were cited for illegal irrigation. Four incidents of vandalism took place over the week's course: water balloons were thrown at a Main Street restaurant; wallpaper was ripped off of a condominium wall; oil and shaving cream were smeared over a car and eight Park Avenue street lamps were broken. Police believe the wallpaper-remover may have been a legitimate wallpaperer doing a "professional" job in the wrong abode. A car window was shattered by a flying golf ball on Thaynes Canyon Drive July 26. Another vehicle's window was smashed on Main Street July Ju-ly 25. One car parked in underground parking on Empire Avenue was broken into July 25, but nothing was stolen. There were three incidents of minors consuming alcoholic beverages July 24 and 25 on Park Avenue. The youths were between the ages of 17 and 19 and are residents of Sandy, Trenton and Salt Lake City. A man in a white t-shirt and shorts took a 12-pack of beer from the Park Avenue 7-Eleven July 24. The clerk reported a theft to police, but when they responded, one officer found some money the bounding beer drinker had apparently tossed in the clerk's direction two-point penalty for distance. i . . -,,:,.., Police issued two warnings to individuals "relieving themselves" in public places during the week. One individual was near the Park Avenue and Deer Valley Drive intersection, and the second out in the weeds near the Aerie and belt route. A loud band had its "plug pulled" July 28 at the Park City Resort Center when officers responded to a noise complaint. Police assisted ambulance workers when a woman climbing from a van at a Park Avenue hotel hit her head while exiting July 28. A city bus driver decided to uproot a momento of the Kearns BoulevardHighway 224 intersection trouble was it was a stop sign that somehow attached itself to the vehicle July 28. A purse was stolen from some executive offices on Lowell Avenue July 28. The area was subsequently searched, but the handbag could not be found. On July 25, several juveniles discovered that fireworks should not be set off inside a condominium. A caller reported that the display had damaged the interior of the residence. A $500 bike left unsecured on a friend's Butch Cassidy Drive lawn was stolen July 29. DAV meeting Aug. 14 Veterans in need of assistance with the Veterans Administration may visit with Mr. F.E.
