Show Page B2 Thursday, September 22, 1988 Park Record FOOTBALL from B1 through with 10 yards to spare. Score 6-2 PC with 9:14 left in the game. On Morgan's next possession, Osguthorpe was the spoiler. From his cornerback position, he read Wheeler's throw and intercepted it in the left flat at the Park City 45 yard line. Fifty five yards later, Park City was up 12-2, 13-2 with Worley's extra point. The Trojans continued to self destruct following the kickoff. On first down, Olsen sniffed out an attempted at-tempted reverse, hit Wheeler on the handoff and forced a fumble which he then jumped on to give Park City possession on the Trojan seven. After Rino gained two, Mathews sprinted right on the option play. Just at the moment of impact, he pitched pit-ched the ball out to halfback Cameron Hone, who covered the remaining re-maining five yards untouched for the final score. Final 21-2 PC. That option play was pure perfection perfec-tion for the Park City offense, but it hasn't been oft repeated this year yet. Burns says Park City isn't getting get-ting to the final stage of the option, the pitch to the halfback, very often. The first stage is the handoff to the fullback inside. The second is the quarterback keeper, either inside or outside. Burns says the team needs to get out wider, using the third stage more often. Park City will have to hone all facets of its game heading into the next two games. This week is Grant-sville Grant-sville at Grantsville. Grantsville has been either' awful or great this season, losing to Richfield and Morgan, but pounding Dugway 70-0 and Wasatch 44-14. The centerpiece of the team is a 195 pound tailback. Following that game will be Union, the fourth ranked team in the Tribune poll. 77 v .r Ugly men's day turnout It's getting down to the end of golf season. You can always tell. Usually it's those days when you hit a ball a bit off center and the vibrations run up and down your arms, concentrating concen-trating especially on the funny bones. Oooh, I hate it when that happens! hap-pens! Anyway, the gents of the Park City ' Men's Golf Association seem to have finally accepted that golf season is rapidly coming to a close. As proof of that, the final night of men's association play is Sept. 28. That night will be a two-man best ball format. But first, let's check out last week's action. The format was your basic, boring, run-of-the-mill individual in-dividual net and gross.
