There were kids running foot races and entering pie eating sun taking it all in. While the rest of the country was busy celebrating Labor Day r 0 Park City folks kept with tradi-tion tradi-tion and honored their roots by celebrating Miner's Day Sponsored once again by the Park City Rotary Club, the day began with the expected dynamite blast at 6:00 a.m. A blessed breakfast was served at City Park by the troops of St. Mary's Ca holic Church. And somewhere the other side of 11 :00 a.m the parade made its way iruill me lop ui mam oueci iu v-i- ty Park. Once at City Park, there were hot dogs, burgers and chicken convtsliiritViAc rfnraA tr an nrvon grill by Rotarians, while two of the band entries, The Post Ottice Band and the Take Ten jazz group, serenaded the onlookers. Events for the afternoon included in-cluded mucking and drilling contests, con-tests, foot races and pie eating. Prizes and money for the contests were contributed by Burger King, Dairy Queen, McDonald's, Alpha Beta ,The United Park City Mines Company, Deer Valley, Park City Ski Corp., First Security, Securi-ty, First Interstate, Silver King State Bank, Western Road Machinery, Wheeler Machinery, Interwest Edge and Supply Plumbing Supply, Mt.Fuel, Mt.Bell, Utah Power and Light, andJimPryre. .AST The following is a list of parade and mine contest winners.
