' : The golf course has been under construction the past 2-3 years, with the installation of a new automatic irrigation system and the reconstruction of some holes on the front nine. During that time there were many complaints concerning the condition of the golf course, some valid most invalid. People failed to realize the changes were going to make the golf course better, it was just a matter of time. That time has come, the back nine is improving daily. I appreciate the hard work and dedication of the golf course maintenance staff. They are responsible respon-sible for making the Park City Municipal Golf Course something our community can be proud of. Thanks again, and keep up the good work. Scott Polychronis Blood Drive very helpful Editor: I am reminded this week that I am proud to be an American. I was reminded the week before that I'm proud to live in the Park City area. The people of this community are the greatest. As they did so many times in the past, they answered a call for help from others they didn't even know. This call was in the form of a blood drive that was held at the Treasure Mountain Middle School on June 24th where 108 special people donated their precious blood to literally save lives and 22 more angels tried to donate but were refused because of colds, hay fever etc., and 18 of the 25 community organizations who were invited to recruit donors, gave everything they had to exceed Intermountain Health Care's expected goal of 60 pints. What most of these great people didn't know was that as their warm, red blood dripped slowly into a plastic bag, an IHC vehicle waited anxiously outside to make three emergency trips to Salt Lake to deliver this priceless cargo to critical situations all over the city. Every pint of blood donated that day, was used that day. And now by reaching our goal, every resident of the Park City School District is now a member of the IHC Blood Assurance Program. That is, if you gave blood or not, and you need blood during the next 12 months, you will receive it free of charge. Just call 649-9502. If you know someone who gave blood, slap them on the back and say "thank you". Ike Koleman 'Learn from my mistake' Editor: On Monday, June 9, 1986, before the United States Court in Cheyenne, Wyoming, I entered a guilty plea for the conspiracy to deliver cocaine. At the time I wrote my last letter to the editor, thanking all of you for your support and friendship through the last six years, I was unable to openly admit my guilt as my attorney, Ron Yengich, was still in the process of resolving my case. Now that I am free to express myself, I would like to apologize for my actions. I am sorry for betraying your trust, support sup-port and belief in me. I let you down, as I let myself down. Obviously I knew better than to become a part of a criminal activity. I easily used the poorest judgment of my life. Follow ing my incarceration, I will attempt to pick up the pieces of my shattered life and get back to contributing to society. The scar from my mistake will be a long time healing. I have not set a good example by my recent actions, and yet it is an example you should heed. Drugs have provided me nothing but incarceration. I hope you might in some small measure learn from my mistake.
