An 11-lot subdivision, dubbed Broken Spoke, was sold out the first day it was placed on the market, according to Park Meadows Marketing Director Steve Dering. Prices ranged from $110,000 to $150,000. Dering noted that back-up offers were received on most of the lots. "We've always been confident confi-dent that buyers would realize the value and year-round year-round lifestyle afforded by Park Meadows," Dering said. "The great interest shown in Broken Spoke confirms that belief." The crown jewel of the Park Meadows development is the 18-hole golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus. Scheduled to open in mid-June, mid-June, the course will be the longest in the state and, combined with the Park Meadows Racquet Club, constitutes con-stitutes the Park Meadows Country Club. "We believe the course that Jack has designed for us will be one of the most prestigious in the Intermoun-tain Intermoun-tain area," Dering said, "and, eventually will earn a national reputation," The golf course is the obvious reason Broken Spoke was in such great demand it surrounds the subdivision. "There's no doubt this is very special property offered of-fered at very competitive prices," Dering observed. "Broken Spoke is an island within the course and offers spectacular views and extreme ex-treme privacy." He said that sales activity has "accelerated markedly" during the past several weeks. Dering predicted the debut of the Park Meadows Country Coun-try Club course will benefit the entire town. "The Nicklaus course will add a new dimension to Park Gty's summers and provide pro-vide another compelling reason rea-son to visit or live here during the warm weather months." "Park City's needs are mostly family, in the sense that a lot of people seem to be experiencing life-change crises, separations, and general family discord," said Hauser. "As far as Park City having more need of therapy than the rest of the county, I haven't noticed that." Hauser covers the Summit and Wasatch Counties area. On Mondays and Thursdays she is in Heber and on Tuesdays and Fridays in Park City. Wednesday she spends at the Timpanogos Center. The idea of an outpatient counselor for the two counties coun-ties stemmed from complaints com-plaints from county residents resi-dents that the Timpanogos Center was not meeting the needs of the area. Hauser feels now that is not the case. She believes the program is working well in Park City because of cooperation wth other &&eJl cies. ' "I work closely with the Prevention Center and Social Services. We have a very good rapport with one another and I think that combined we provide a comprehensive com-prehensive service." Hauser said that patients can usually see her the following day of making an appointment. The cost of the service is on a sliding scale based on income and people in the family.
