LEGAL NOTICE ORDINANCE Ordinance No. 82-2 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CERTAIN SECTIONS OF ORDINANCE OR-DINANCE NO. 12-79, REMOVING THE COUNCIL COUN-CIL MEMBER FROM THE PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING ATTENDANCE AS A MANDATORY REQUIREMENT. WHEREAS, the City Council is able to keep fully advised of the disposition of matters before the Planning Commission Com-mission by working with the Planning Staff and other city officials and employees, so that attendance atten-dance of Planning Commission Com-mission meetings by City Council member is unnecessary. un-necessary. Planning Commission Created: There is hereby created a city Planning Commission to consist of eight (8) members. Members shall be appointed by the Mayor, with advise and consent of the Council. Section 1.2. Terms of Members: Members of the Planning Commission shall serve terms of four (4) years. .The terms shall be staggered so that two (2) members shall be appointed ap-pointed each year. Terms shall expire on the second Monday In February, but members on the Planning Commission shall continue con-tinue to serve until their successors are appointed and qualify. The Mayor shall appoint a new Planning Plan-ning Commission member to fill vacancies that might arise and such appointments appoint-ments shall be to the end of the vacating members term. Section 1.3. Absence Deemed Resignation: Any Planning Commission member who is absent from two (2) consecutive regularly scheduled Planning Plan-ning Commission meetings meet-ings shall be deemed to have resigned from the Commission, unless those absences are excused by the Chairman of the Planning Plan-ning Commission. Section 2: The appointments appoint-ments of existing Planning Plan-ning Commission members mem-bers shall not be affected hereby. Section 3.
