That's all that lies between now and D.V. Day, the long -awaited opening of the Deer Valley Resort. The chairlifts are ready to go. Construction crews are working feverishly to whip the two huge day lodges into shape for the scheduled Dec. 12 opening. Now, if the weather cooperates. co-operates. "We want good skiing, not just marginal skiing," says Steve Dering, Deer Valley's marketing director. "So we need another storm. I think we got another foot we would open." Dering says there's nothing no-thing magical about Dec. 12. No dignitaries have been invited. There won't be any ribbon-cutting ceremonies. So, if the snow doesn't come, D.V. Day can easily be postponed. But, with Dec. 12 still nine days away, such talk borders on blasphemy. Five years of planning and more than $20 million have gone into preparing for opening day. Thirty trails have been cut on Bald Mountain and Bald Eagle Mountain. Five chairlifts-four chairlifts-four triples and one double-have double-have been installed. A network net-work of roads has been built. The 48,000-square-foot Snow Park Center and the 27,000-square-foot Silver Lake Center Cen-ter are being completed. If you visit Deer Valley, you will soon get a feel for the level of the service. As you park in the resort's 750-car lot, you will be met by a shuttle which whisks you to the pedestrian underpass under-pass leading into the Snow Park Center. Among the amenities in the huge center are a spacious cafeteria, a ski shop, a photography shop, an equipment rental facility, a child-care center, ticket sales windows, a lounge, a reservations office, and administrative ad-ministrative offices and separate se-parate eating and locker facilities for the employees. Even if you don't have to, go check out the restrooms. The countertops are made of marble and the fixtures are mm li isi -1' MrrftfmA mm Piltiiyifefli .
