Show EEV. ROBERT II. HARPER UIO DAY WHILE it may be facetiously observed that Labor Day is not a day in which much labor is done, it is a great reminder of weighty problems that disturb the relations of capital and labor, and might be used to foster a harmonious har-monious relation between two great groups In our American life. Let men In their churches today consecrate themselves unto God and seek his guidance as citizens of our country and laborers for the great King. For upon the riiiht relation between capital and labor depends the welfare of a hundred and sixty million Americans. The writer Is not a member of any union and he never hopes to bj a capitalist, nor to have anything above his daily needs, and he is not qualified to decide and advise In problems that arise between capital and labor. But he can point to a passage of Scripture about sitting where they sat. And tli. e Is another that tells that Jew said, "Come unto me, all ye th ii labor, and are heavy-laden, anil I will give you rest." Yes, the npi.it of Christ, undemanding and tole ' tion should keep nu n toi i i happily doing the wuild's wm .; So mote it be. |
