Show Page 2 Resolution of the Park City Council Whereas the residents of Park City, recognizing the need for a local means of daily mass communications, have donated thousands of dollars and thousands of hours of volunteer work to create KPCW, a community radio station; And Whereas KPCW will provide residents with commercial -free programs, including news, public affairs and entertainment; And Whereas KPCW is a non-profit, educational station dedicated to the principle of public access to the public's airwaves, giving the opportunity for every resident of Park City to voice his or her opinions over the air; And Whereas KPCW will strive to foster pride in Park City's heritage and work to preserve pre-serve Park City's identity in the face of growth; And Whereas KPCW is Park City's first radio station and a unique project in rural radio in Utah that is supported by the Park City Council and all segments and interests within the community; Now Therefore, by my signature on behalf of the Park City Council, I, Mayor John C. Green, Jr., do declare July 2nd as "Community Wireless Day" in recognition of the outstanding out-standing contribution to the community that has been made by the volunteers and Board of Trustees of KPCW who, after two year's work, have made Park City's first radio station a reality.
