"I felt there was a need for an independent agent in Park City, so when an opening for the job was created by the Leavitt Insurance Insur-ance Group, I look it," says O'Kelly, who formerly served as office manager for Tom Ligare's State Farm Insurance Insur-ance agency. "My services Shirley will be complementary to the services of those of the direct writer insurance agents in town." 0' Kelley formed her agency agen-cy in partnership with the Dixie Leavitt Insurance Group, Inc., which comprises com-prises some 33 independent agencies throughout Utah, Arizona and Nevada. 0' Kelley's independent status allows her to write policies for clients from a variety of j0 ' ''j O'Kollcv insurance companies. Those companies for which she will be writing policies are Allstate, All-state, Maryland Casualty Co. of California, Milbank Mutual, Transwester, General Gen-eral Agency, Dairyland, and Northwestern National. "The most important thing in the business is for the insurance shopper to stick with one agent," notes 0' Kelley. "That way the policyholder poli-cyholder will have a single writer that learns his needs and can keep paperwork to a minimum." In addition to writing insurance insur-ance policies, 0' Kelley will be offering bonding services, which formally were obtained obtain-ed through companies in Salt Lake t.'itv or Heber. The 0' Kelley's-Leavitt office of-fice can be found at 421 Main Street, or she can be reached at 649-6831. Employee Workshop Coming Chamber Communications Coordinator Tika Beard has spent long hours the last few weeks preparing for what should be the most informative, informa-tive, interesting and useful three hour experience you or your employees might ever take part in. Realizing that Park City has come of age as a major destination resort and as such will be expected to function in a professional manner, the Chamber and Convention Bureau felt it was vital to help provide that professionalism. No matter how large or well planned a business may be, it is still only as effective as its most junior employee. The employees, after all, are the people the tourist meets. If a person at the counter of a shop, front desk of a hotel or behind the bar in a club is friendly, helpful and well informed, the customer will carry that impression home with him. But, even more quickly, he will remember the rude, ill-informed and unfriendly employee. This person can have a negative effect on a whole vacation and there are the attitudes we are hoping to do away with in our series ot employee em-ployee orientation workshops. If you are a Chamber ot Convention Bureau member, you should by now have received full information on the whats, wherefores and whens of the workshops. We feel it is vitally important for you and your business that your employees attend. Each three-hour session will include an opportunity to discuss situations and problems prob-lems that employees most commonly encounter, skills building - how to deal with stress situations - mini presentations by representatives representa-tives of the three local ski resorts, athletic clubs, Kimball Kim-ball Art Center, transportation transporta-tion system and more. The films, "Spirit of the West," Park City's own promotional film, and "The Foremost West," a most entertaining and informative overview of our area of the country, will be shown. And perhaps most importantly, each employee in attendance will be given a copy of the new, hot-off-the-press Park City employee orientation booklet and certificate cer-tificate of completion for having taken the time and interest to attend the workshop. work-shop. Space is limited in the workshops, but there is still room in all sessions. Dates, times and places are as follows: Friday. December? 8:30-11:30 a.m. T.M.I. 2:00-5:00 p.m. T.M.I.
