Show Page 12 IP. IS. H Mites; byTubultrWNt , Whew, it's over. The largest, longest Arts Festival yet. The throngs have returned to their homes, leaving those who worked these last two days burnt out. And those who didn't are burnt out from partaking. The only thing there will be energy for this coming week is adjusting the fine tuning. We of the Wells family are planning a real slow one. Real Slow. On the slate this week is a new series on our favorite station, PBS. This one's a 10-parter, yes another continuing life drama, about the life and time of Charles Dickens. Charles rose from a poor boy in a "blacking" factory to become one of the foremost writers of his era.. His novels reflected his own life and those, of other child laborers. Dickens also was a renowned public performer, giving extraordinary public readings of his work. He took the parts of all his characters and brought them to life on the stage. So pass the popcorn and move the left rabbit ear to the left, no too far, come back, there, that's it, perfect. It's time to watch f hns PRS hilifes. Even though hypnosis has been used and well publicized for nearly 200 years, there are many misconceptions and false ideas held by the public. Most people expect to pass out and be unconscious when hypnotized. Actually, there is never loss of consciousness even in the deepest states of hypnosis. You are always aware of what is going on around you. Another misconception is that people expect to be under the control of the hypnotist; in his power. They think any suggestion the hypnotist makes must be carried out. Under hypnosis, there is no surrender of will power. Any suggestion given is strictly censored, both consciously and subconsciously. Generally no one will do anything under hypnosis that is against his moral character or will. Some people fear while in hypnosis tbey will say something they might not want known or discussed, as may happen with some drugs. Since one if fully aware at all times when hypnotized there is no such tendency. Another fear often expressed is that awakening from hypnosis may be difficult or impossible. There is never any difficulty except in very, very rare cases. Even in such cases the subject can always be awakened. If you ever have an opportunity to be hypnotized by a trained professional such as your dentist or doctor, try it. I think you'll find it helpful.
