Show Page 6 State Backs District Wednesday, April 20, 1977 Continued From Page 1 the financial burden for the plans and specifications which have been completed com-pleted to this point in time and what ftjnds, if any, would be available to finance the subsequent project. As a conservative conser-vative estimate, it would require approximately ap-proximately two years of additional study and re-design work to again proceed to the point where the project is at present. As a result, funds presently committed to this particular project would have to be released to other projects which are now ready to proceed. At best, funding availability for a project proposed two years from now would be uncertain, and the delay could be much longer depending on availability of grant funds. We are not aware of any new information in-formation which indicates that a new st-. st-. study could arrive any different conclusion than the first one. Park City should be concerned that their existing treatment plant is consistently con-sistently producing inferior quality effluent. ef-fluent. Also, because the plant is approaching ap-proaching and, at times, exceeding its hydraulic capacity, the imposed NPDES Discharge Permit effluent limitations would be difficult to achieve in the future. In the event discharge permit A nnexation Continued From tage 1 Martin also expressed concern over the preservation of the ridge line view. He said he wanted to prevent it from becoming "just roof lines." Commissioner Wells asked engineer Jack Johnson if additional water storage capabilities would be needed to service the eventual development of Treasure Hills, Quarry Mountain and the Holiday Ranch areas. Johnson said it was his opinion that present storage capacity would be adequate but added that the city engineer "will probably differ." Armstrong Property Engineer Johnson also represented Herb and Melbourne Armstrong. The Armstrongs are asking that 12 acres lying between the Conoco Service Station and the new Mount Air Cafe on Highway 224 be incorporated into the city limits. Johnson said there are two major rTABIiISMENT Featuring the best omeletts this side of Poison Creek. Open Mon.-Fri. 7a.m.-3 p.m.; Sat &Sun. 8-6. Beer available. The State would find itself in the position of supporting EPA in this action as a means to limit the discharge of pollutants to the environment environ-ment and to minimize the degree of health risks for the welfare of the public. It is obvious that it is vitally important that the bond election pass and the proposed project move ahead immediately. im-mediately. We commend you in your attempts at-tempts to provide all of the facts to the public in your series of public hearings and informational campaign which we feel will enable the voters to make the proper decision. If you have any questions with the foregoing, or if we may be of further assistance, please let us know. Very Truly yours, UTAH WATER POLLUTION COMMITTEE Calvin K. Sudweeks Executive Secretary Proposa Is reasons for approving this request: the parcel is part of an island within the city limits and there is a definite plan for development of the land. The plan calls for duplexes or four-plexes four-plexes to be built on RD-zoned land with commercial zoning desired for a future motel site near the service station and cafe. The residential would consist of 54 units on 6.8 acres giving an 8 unit per acre density. As the meeting, which lasted until 12:30 a.m., hit the 11:45 mark, Commissioner Com-missioner Roy Reynolds commented, "I don't like it very much tonight, but maybe I'm just tired." Recommendation All three proposals will be studied by the Planning Commission which will then make a recommendation to the city council on annexation and possible zoning. 649-8284 I raw "J voir, -h PARK 00 i - .
