They moved to Provo in "1926, where they now live. - They are the parents of eight -living children. They have four boys and four daughters. Grua, Mrs. Dinner Party Last Friday Celebrates 50 Years For Mothers Study Club, Members Are Honored On Feb. 17 tlie Mothers Study Club celebrated the 50th anniversary an-niversary of the organization of the club. A dinner party was held at the Alpine Country Club The present members greeted past members who had come from Brigham City; Salt Lake ' City, Provo, American Fork, and Pleasant Grove. Charter members were honored and a beautiful white, golden tipped chrysanthemum was pinned on each of thpm by Arvilla Harvey and Maud Richards. " Charter members who were present were Cleone Kirk, Fldr-ench Fldr-ench Richardson, Emma Overlade, Over-lade, Susanna Mae Grua,, Kate Jacobs, Ida West', and Manetta Gammett. Dora Chlpman was not present. At 1:30 p.m. a delicious roast beef dinner with all the trimmings trim-mings was served. Eva Adams ' gave the prayer and blessing on the food; The tables were decorated with yellow chrysanthemums chrysan-themums and the centerpiece was a tour-tiered beautifully decorated cake,. -President" Kale "Jacobs wel-: wel-: corned the members and guests and announced the program, which followed the dinner. . Lacy White paid tribute to those members who have passed pass-ed away and as each name was announced, a yellow, rosebud was placed in a white vase in 7 their memory. Donna Brock gave a toast to .the club members in which she expressed appreciation for their friendship over the years, for the contributions they and their families have made to the community com-munity and" for the examples they have set as mothers, wives and leaders, noting that four of them have been chosen as "Mother of the Year" and one " honorary member was American Ameri-can Mother of 1955. Emma Overlade, the present historian, gave a history of the-club the-club activities. This club was organized Feb. 17, 1917 with" eight members. As the years moved on active members numbered num-bered twenty-fuor, Contributions . . have . been ., made to many projects in PI. Grove, such as book drives for the public library and money for a reading table for the children, chil-dren, which was made by Karl Banks. A Mother's Band Club to purchase, uniforms . for ., the ... school band, Red Cross and Cancer Fund drives, knitted ar-icles ar-icles for the boys in the armed services, Girls State donations, Strawberry Days floats, Saving bonds, and with all . this and -much moreja golderl. friendship -that has kept the group together to-gether for fifty years. Two complete scrapbooks were on display that showed club activities since it was organized. or-ganized.
