Rosita, to David Messersmith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernal Messersmith of Pleasant Grove. The marriage will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 20, at the Duncan Dun-can Manor in American Fork. Bishop Joseph Beveridge of Pleasant Grove will officiate at the services. Following their marriage the . young couple will make their home in American Foyk. U.S. Navy. He is stationed on the USS Turner, and is a 3rd Class Petty Officer, and a Sonar Son-ar Technician. The Turner has recently returned from a Mediterranean Medi-terranean cruise. The bride-to-be has attended school in American Fork. After their marriage and a - leave, - the -couple - wUl return-to return-to Florida where the Turner is now docked. They will live in Mayport, Florida, while the ship is in port. The program consisted of several sev-eral skits demonstrating people's peo-ple's reluctance to become involved in-volved with situations where the law might be a possibility, for example as witnesses of a traffic accident or being called call-ed to serve on Juries, etc. Afterwards the group sang Christmas carols and were ser-, ved a delicious light luncheon by the hostesses, Mrs. Jackson and Mrs. Ford Paulson. Members present were Miss Margaret Hayes, Mrs. Leath Allred, Miss Jennie Gleason, Mrs. Lawrence Crease, Mrs. Eugene Allred, Mrs. Eleroy West, Miss Marjorie Holdaway, Mrs. Frank Newman, Mrs. Emily Em-ily Pederson, Mrs.' Millen D. Radmall, Mrs. Ford Paulson, Mrs. Ella Jackson and Mrs. Jess Monson. PI. Grove DUP Camp Holds Christmas Party The Pleasant Grove Camp of Daughters of Utah Pioneers held a Christmas party on Dec. 9 along with their regular meeting. Capt. Ina Iverson was in charge. A program was given, with Ida Mae Christiansen singing '. "Silver Bells" accompanied by her daughter Kathleen. Edna Newman gave the lesson. A Christmas story was given by Zelda Thornton and the Thought for the Day by Sylvia Peterson. Prayers were given by Charlotte Carlson and Fern Hicks. Refreshments were served by Melvina Jones, Gladys Hilton, Sylvia Peterson, Jane Forsyth, Hortense Fronk and Nora Mac-farlane.' Mac-farlane.' A special treat of candy can-dy was prepared by the officers Captain Ina Iverson and Vice Captains Emma Overlade and Lourie Morrill. v : ' Elysium Club Learns About Holiday Gifts, Decorations Holiday Hints was the theme for ithe Elysium Club last Wednesday Wed-nesday evening, which was held at the home of Joyce Pitts. President Colleen Harris conducted con-ducted the meeting with Norma Ovard offering the opening prayer and Pauline Olpin reading read-ing the club prayer. Jeanne Walker and JoAnne Brady sang two beautiful Christmas songs, accompanied by Beverly Chris-teson. Chris-teson. Irene Jenkins then introduced intro-duced the guest for the evening who was Mrs. Marilyn Adams. Shes showed a beautiful array of Christmas decorations and Christmas gifts. The rest of the evening .was spent showing the items and giving the girls ideas on how to create beautiful things for Christmas. LaVota Club Has Meeting Last Wednesday Evening Mrs. Zoe James was the hostess host-ess for the LaVota Club which met last Wednesday evening at the home of her mother Mrs. Eva Adams. n s The program was presented by Susan Driggs, Marsha Holt and Susan James who gave a report on their activities at Girls State las! summer. Mrs. Adams also explained the purpose pur-pose of Girls State, gave a short history of it, and told how the girls are chosen to attend at-tend Girls State. - Light refreshments were served ser-ved after the program. She married Lafayette G. Blackhurst Jan. 18, 1905 in the Salt Lake Temple. Tem-ple. Her husband died Nov. 30, 1950. She has been an active member mem-ber of the LDS Church, living ner entire life in the Pleasant Grove First Ward. For 15 years she worked as Ward Primary president, and in the Stake Primary.
