License Plate Lines Short Now, Get 1966 Plates Early The shortness of lines make conditions for receiving your 1966 plates in person at State Tax Commission office in the City and County Building, Pro-vo, Pro-vo, Utah, very much worthwhile, worth-while, according to Noel Reece, branch manager. Citizens are reminded of the congestion involved in waiting until the last two weeks for purchasing of plates and are encouraged to come in early to avoid the big rush. The mail program is in full force and plates may be obtained ob-tained in this manner with guaranteed delivery if received before Feb. 15, 1966. The . Tax Commission has been happy to see that all documents doc-uments received in its' office from the County Assessor's of- fice have been processed and mailed within 24 hours. Citizens are urged to disregard disre-gard the fact that more plates have been issued this year than the same date last year. .-Si' -..- -MM-mnni -i 1- POLLY BERGEN Will serve as hostess Telephone Hour to Feature Gershwin An all-George Gershwin program pro-gram with Polly Bergen as hostess- will be presented Sunday, ' Jan. 30 (4:3a pirn,, Channel 2, KUTY), when the Bell Telephone Tele-phone Hour offers a musical salute to this famous American composer. - Singing stars John Raitt, Susan Su-san Watson and John Davidson, pianist Andre Previ and special spec-ial guest Diahann Carroll, also will appear on the hour-long, live colorcast. While most music is characterized charac-terized by a composer's own style, the distinguishing mark of George Gershwin's music is its variety. The Bell Telephone Hour presentation will illustrate a musical diversity" with selections selec-tions ranging from the popular' songs of the day "Let's Call the Whole Thing Off," "Liza," 'S Wonderful to such works as "Porgy and Bess," "An American in Paris" and "Rhapsody in Blue.". DON'T OVER-DO! SAVE 'ONE MORE RUN' FOR NEXT WEEK VIKINGS FALTER IN LOSS TO SP. FORK SPRINGVILLE FRIDAY After winning two straight in Region Four league play, the Pleasant Grove Vikings faltered last Friday night In their own hometown. They were beaten by the Spanish Fork Dons 75-54. The loss was a disappointment disappoint-ment to the local students and fans, since the Spaniards, with only a 2-3 record prior to the game, were expected to lose number four. However, the self-styled self-styled experts were wrong again. Pleasant Grove was really never In the game. The losers trailed by 8 points 19-11 at the end of the first period. The Dons increased their lead to 12 points, 38-24 at half-time. They even gained a point during the . third period when the scoreboard score-board showed 53-40. And the last frame was a runaway, as the Dons drove to' a 21 point bulge, 75-54. Dave Klemm was in the spot-.. spot-.. light again for Pleasant Grove. He racked up 9 from the field and 5 for 5 from the line for a total of 23. It was the best scoring effort for the evening. In second place was Kent Burton of Spanish Fork. His total to-tal was 19, Following in third place was Garth Smith, also , of Spanish Fork, with a total of 16 points. Coldness at the hoop evidently evident-ly was the cause of the Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove demise. No Viking, except Dave Klemm scored more than 8. Twin brother Don was the best. Dee Jarvis, who scored 23 in the previous game, was held to 2. Foul pitching was about even, slightly under 50 per cent. In other Region Four games, also played Friday night, Am-erican Am-erican Fork made it six in a row by edging Springville 41-23; Provo kept a clean slate by downing Orem 82-69; BY Ilieh finally beat Carbon 60-58 and Lehi belted Payson 68-60. Run-ners-up in the league play are Springville, 4-2 in the Southern Division, and BY High, 4-2 up north, . ... . - . - Games this week send Lehi to Spanish Fork, Provo to BY High, Carbon to American Fork and Orem to Payson.
