Speakers at the Friday noon luncheon who explained the goals and purposes of the project pro-ject were Glen Johnson, vice chairman of the Utah Council on Aging, Edward Okazakl, director di-rector of the State Council on Aging, Dr. Guy A. Richards, superintendent of Utah State Training School and Angle E. Ballif, representing Governor Calvin Rampton. The sponsors of the project are the State Welfare Department, Depart-ment, and the State Council on Aging. Recruiting agencies are the State Employment Service, the Senior Citizens Councils in Utah County and the Civic Clubs in Utah County. Funds for the project, the first of its kind In the United States, will come from the Economic Eco-nomic Opportunity Act. Senior Citizens interested may apply at the Utah Employment Employ-ment Service, 190 West 800 North, Provo, State Training School or Pleasant Grove City HaJl. PTA Council Meeting Held on Thursday, Nov. 1 8 in PI. Grove Representatives from the national, na-tional, state and county Departments Depart-ments of Health, as well as the Pleasant Grove City Nurse, Lucille Lu-cille Page, were visitors at the last meeting of the Pleasant Grove PTA Council, held Thursday, Thurs-day, Nov. 18 in the Central Elementary Ele-mentary School. A project dealing with diabetes dia-betes is being considered by the community FT As, at the request re-quest of Mrs. Virginia Ault, president of Central PTA. The guests were present to discuss the feasibility of such a project in Pleasant Grove. State officials Informed the Council members that state funds would be available to help finance the project, but that it must first be approved by the County Health Department and the Alpine School District. Alpine Al-pine School District has given an okay to such an activity, but ' approval from the county is still pending. ' Other business included a report re-port by Safety chairman Lu-Dean Lu-Dean Newman, that according to requests made by Central and Grovecrest Schools, sand had been placed beneath playground play-ground facilities and that crosswalks cross-walks had been painted, at both schools. Mrs. Beverly Monson, president presi-dent of the Pleasant Grove High School PTA, informed the council that a very successful Parent's Day had been held, and that the PTA had served refreshments to the teachers. She also reported that questionnaires question-naires had been sent out to parents of all high school students, stu-dents, asking for opinions on curriculum. The forms have been returned to the school, and results will be made in the near future. Mrs. Marjean Marchbanks told of the successful Parent's Day held at Lindon recently, and gave an account of the luncheon lun-cheon served to the teachers on that day, and also reported on the visit of Lindon's Mayor, Joseph Jo-seph Christiansen, to the school Mrs. Marchbanks heads the Lindon School PTA.
