After the "Eenie, Meenie, Minie, Mo" countdown, the victim who was "It" was blindfolded and placed in the middle of the circle. Then each one of the other players would give him a slap, or as we called it, a "buff" on the back of his head. It was up to him to guess who gave him the whack. The game continued until a buffer was Identified and then he became "It." - At least it was a lot of good clean fun and the worst the poor guessers got out of it was a mild headache. . The game is currently being played in the local area, with certain variations, the one who is "It" drives an automobile" on many of the streets of Lindon, Pleasant Grove or Manila. His blindfold is not a bandana handkerchief or a clean dish towel. It's the weeds, shrubbery and brambles that have been allowed to grow tall and obscure the view at road or city street intersections. . In far too many instances the motorist is forced fo drive ' almost into the intersection before he can see approaching; traffic from right or left. , ' If the driver guesses wrong and takes a chance, he may nof unrca f Kon r "ki ill" rr tka Ma rr nn nki ride to the hospital or mortuary. t . "Blind Man's Buff" is old minded persons should not be forced to play it on the thoroughfares thorough-fares of this area. Why not get rid of the blindfolds so that the "It" man or woman has at least a sporting chance? 24 YEARS In the Review From the Files of the Review Friday, Sept. 1, 1939 J Utah Power, and light Co. has announced a reduction in rates to residential customers. 24 Years Ago P.G.
