After exatuioing a Dumber of witnesses wit-nesses the following facts were eJicit- efl: Some time ago the deceased and her elderslsttr were in the cellar and found a stri chuine bottle with a little poison in it. Mary asked what it was and was told that it was poison, and that if she "touched it, it would hurt her." The moth er also cautioned the children not to touch it. Monday the father found the bottle in ,the -ash pan and no one could tell how it got there. It was shown that Mary had a habit of tasting things. Just before death her father asked her if she had taken any thin..', and the answer was "no." The verdict was: Death by poison administered by her own hand" The opinion seemed to prevail, that the child had, out of curiosity, tasted the fatal drug not realizing its deadly Dature.
