His fine rifle was taken, together with 200 rounds of ammunition, also bacco and cigars. It was night that Mr. Cooper had some to-the to-the first been ab- sent from his place of business and it would seem that the burglars were aware of the fact. BURGLARY JAIL DELIVERY On the evening of the Fourth our little city was the field of a quiet but effective burgiary and jail delivery, that caused a sensation in' our quiet town. The man arrested by deputy Harmer on the evening of the third was locked in the city j til. awaiting to appear to answer to the charge of carrying concealed -weapons and resisting an officer. Several of the workless Willies were about town on the Fourt h, lounging aVmiit thp i'ltv n:irk spt-minsrlv much interested in the days proceedings, PaSut evidently looking for and locating Iva w I place to loot. Tbe Marshal believed that the ten and the pistol were sufficient security.! The men said they would get the money and be back in half an hour Mr. Hall took his wife up the street to get some ice cream, and was gone about twenty minutes, and when he returned found the delivery completed complet-ed and all quiet. The toughs .had i entered throngh the N. The Marshal's office had been rifled . and two guns taken with some cartridges, but the prisoner's gun. one - of . the best arms of its ma.ke, was overlooked. overlook-ed. It would appear that the robbery of Cooper's drug store had been plan-nedand plan-nedand executed at the same time. Four persons were seen to go between the buildings leading to the rear entrance en-trance of Cooper's place, about 11 p in. which excited no suspicion in the minds of the observers, as to them snch doings were common. Two figures, lying ly-ing prone, were seen on top of one of the coaches by an officer at the Provo depot. Marshal Hall summoned summon-ed a posse an went -down to the tramps rendezvous in the willows and there captured thirteeu of the work-less work-less willies, but discovered nothing that, would connect them with the hurglary. A cartridge belonging to Cooper's rifle was f ootid on the track near Center street, and the broken knife blade at Cooper's door. It causes one to p iuse and almost shud-l der to think what might have happened hap-pened had the Marshal's posse met the desperadoes, armed as they were with Cooper's gun and the other purloined pur-loined weapons.
