At the mass-meeting Saturday evening, eve-ning, it was almost unanimous for electric lights, and to bond the city for the purpose of obtaining the nec essary funds. Latter in the meeting it developed that it would be agree able to those present, to sell 100 acres of the City pasture, for which $125.00 per acre had been offered, and bond the city for the balance. While we are agreeable to the bonding, it Is still a question, whether it would not be better to sell 200 acres of the pasture, pas-ture, pay as we go and have done with it. Whether we bond or sell the power plant will ultimately pay for itself and the people will own it. It will not increase taxation, there- It Dossn'i Scare Folks to be told the truth about The scare-crow coffees are those that hide under a glazing of factory eggs. glue and such stuff. Ltqn Coffee la pure, wholesome, BQKlazed, rich in flavor and uniform in strength. The air-tight, sealed package insures cleanliness, fresh- fore put no extra burden upon the -j taxpayer, but will te a source or pleas ure and profit from the start. If 200 acres are sold, the remainder of 1hc pasture can be put into such a condition that it . will afford as much provinder for the "poor widdow's cow" as hitherto, and we are under no obligation ob-ligation as a municipality to furnish pisture, at less than HALF PIUCE to people who have pasture of their own. . i We are still firmly ol he opti Ion that means enough should be provid-e provid-e t- .ut the Spring Creek water into in-to p pes and distribute it in the more thickly portions of the c ty. We need good water and more of it, more than lUhL ii i.eeded. We have no protection protec-tion against fire; and are liable to lose any day through flame than the entire cost of the plant. We believe the Hobble Creek water could be joined to those of Spring Creek, at the mouth of Spring Creek Canyon, and make one power, which would never freeze. By piping the Hobble Creek water more than enough water will be saved to put in the water mains. Another proposition; the Spring Creek water could be brought down to the eastern part of town and put upon the wheel, thereby doubling the power, which would furnish all the light and power that would probably be used for some time. For the water works, the water could be put into the main, at or near James Straw's, which would give sufficient pressure for ordinary purposes, and in case of tire, the connection could be so arranged arran-ged that by touching a button the pressure would be instantly changed from the mill to the main above. The pipe is already in Spring Creek for half the power, and if the plan last proposed is deemed feasible, we can get power for about 1800 lights, aud put the water into the town in pipes for about what it would cost to give us the lights alone from II oOble Ceek. These propositions are given out to think about, and it is our ardent desire that the people will adopt the most feasible proposition, as to how to get t he money, and w hat would be the best to do; whether to have the lights first, or the water, or both. By all means let us have both. There is io good reason why we should not, within the next six months, and not levy additional burden upon the tax payer. Those indispensible utilities wiii certainly pay for themselves and give us what is a crying need, and we can not get them too quick. Deafness Cannot Be Cared By local applications, as they cannot can-not reach the diseased portion of the ear. There is only one way to cure deafness, and that is by constitutional constitution-al remedies, Deafness is caused by an inflamed condition of the mucous lining of the Eustachian Tube. When this tube gets inflamed you have a rumbling sound or imperfect hearing, and when it is entirely closed deafness is the result, and unless un-less the inflamation can be taken out and this tube restored to its normal condition, hearing will be distroyed forever; nine cases out' of ten are caused by catarrh, which is nothing but an inflamed condition of the mucous mu-cous surfaces. We will give one hundred dollars for any case of deafness (caused by catarrh) that cannot be cared by Hall's Catarrh Cure. Send for circulars circu-lars free. F. J.
