NUMBER SPRING VILLE, UTAH, THURSDAY, MAY 8, 1902. ' PRICE, $1.25 tER ANNUM." d The-Fimis Bak Is made with Royal ing Powder. Always light, sweet, pure wholesome Dress Plainly. v Principal Eaton of the Salt Lake High School, is to be most heartily commended for his suggestion, sug-gestion, that the pupils of his school, attend commencement exercises clad in plain attire This is another step in the right direction. Where the rich can afford it, and do dress their girls in rich and elaborate costume, the poor cannot afford it, and if the attempt is made, it often brings debt and calamity when the debt must be paid. The sweet girl graduate can be plainly plain-ly dressed without great expenditure, expen-diture, and if this rule it followed follow-ed a much better feeling would prevail. It is just : human nature na-ture for the poor girl to l'oek with more or less envy on her richly attired school mate, and if she takes it philosophically, i-t hurts her just the same, and militates much against her enjoyment en-joyment and often against her success. Another thing was painfully noticable, no later than at lastyears graduating exercises. It was seen and commented upon, the fact that some of the as manj as ten boquets of flow ers, otheVs with one, and vet others with none. It is a beautiful beaut-iful tribute to present a choice boquet to a successful pupil, but if you could see the look of disappointment upon the faces of those who get none, when from two to ten are being showered show-ered upon others all around, it would cause you to pause and sav; let us divide the honors or ' with all. It is really overdoing it to present mora than a couple of boquets to a pupil at graduation. "But," says one, "Can't we give as many flowers to our favorites a? we please?" Certainly, but remember when we are giving boquets where three or four have been placed, while others in the class have none, is cruelty cruel-ty refined. Most of us claim to be Christians, and to be in possession pos-session of loving spirits, more or less, and remember, that it is both Christian and manly to do as you would be done by. Divide the floral tribute on Commencement days, and all will feel better having done so. Try it. - What Thin Folks Need. . Is a greater power of digesting and assimilating food.
