On Wednesday, Oct. 29, the Mapleton Jr. High School band and orchestra orches-tra students met together to perform for a large crowd at Mapleton Jr. High. Much planning and preparation went into this performance, and it turned out great. The students and teachers teach-ers met at the school almost al-most every morning before be-fore school to practice. The conductors were teachers Deanne Helquist, Michael Whatcott, and Paul Wells, a guest conductor who has been working with the orchestra or-chestra students and Mrs. Helquist for quite some time. One tradition that has been kept alive in years past is for students and conductors to dress up in their Halloween costumes during the performance. The night started out with the orchestra playing three songs, including "Fiddle Tunes No. 3," "Ancient Ritual," and "Blue-Fire Fiddler." Fid-dler." The three conductors then played an impromptu song together. The band played three more songs, including "The Headless Horseman," -"Shrek Soundtrack Highlights," High-lights," and "Medley from The Phantom of the Opera." Op-era." The evening ended with "Hungarian Air and Dance" performed by both the band and orchestra. After the final piece was performed, parents and other photographers were allowed to get "close and in their face" for photos. The cameras were flashing flash-ing constantly until the night ended and everyone filed out the doors to head home. It was definitely a wonderful won-derful night that left the audience wanting more and waiting until the next great performance by these students. The first human who hurled an insult instead of a stone was the founder of civilization. - Sigmund Freud musiini Jcta.fiin.G.A PTA Fun Run Hope to Add to MJHS By Altxh &WM Ttih Sauiidty (Ottntof I lih), ih Mapichtn Junk lliph PTA mil Md Ha Ant iK dm run (him 8:K)-tOflO 8:K)-tOflO am. to mt motiy kit Khnnl ainiitimum the run s. lit rtirt at J.I J f! ine bod AlbHHi mtnutt mwtitij . 1A tun will ah hold i bmlfaat nutting al I M iiitul Ifl IK) mj kill hav kuvmh Iff fhililhffl il.ttmj! at 1m, Mudlng fitta patolUig, Mlum-flM tmlkiona. and otfcwi, Prlkittntj ill nml t nay in tttry (n uf 4 1 0 00 lis aduiu 13 and uider, SK IMI ft ynulh und 1 3.
