Show Thursday, October 25, 2007 SPRINGVILLE HERALD Leonard James to eelebrate 90th birthday Leonard E. James will celebrate his 90th birthday on Monday, Oct. 29, 2007. Leonard grew up in Logan, Utah, but has spent most of his adult life in Spring-ville. Spring-ville. His wife, Beth, passed away in 1999. They are the parents of three daughters, Cindy (Allen) Lambert, Pat (Wayne) Hall and Debbie (Kevin) Stephenson. They have 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. As a young man Leonard received a BS degree from Utah State University in physical education, where he participated in basketball basket-ball and track. During WW II Leonard served in the Army Air Corps in the Pacific Theater. Leonard was the owner operator of Provo Office Equipment for over 35 years. He used his experience in recreation while serving serv-ing on the Springville City Council for eight years as the councilman over parks and recreation. From serving serv-ing in this capacity, he will leave a living legacy to his adopted hometown of Springville. It was under his direction as city councilman that the Springville Hobble Creek Golf Course was built. While serving on the council, coun-cil, the need for a city-wide celebration was realized. Leonard helped organize and was the first chairman of Art City Days. As a member of the IDS Drew Arthur Reid, son of Jonathan and Jennifer Reid of Springville, turned one year old on October 10, 2007. His grandparents are Glade and Collette Binks and Maureen and Terry Reid, all of Springville. Great-grandparents are Bish and Bonnie Snelson and Art and Nina Reid, all of Springville. , Porter Michael Lawler, the much adored son (especially by his Dad) of Michael and Kristine Lawler of Trenton, Utah, turned one year old on October 24, 2007. His grandparents are Milo and Holly Barney of Mapleton and Ron and Diana Kiepatrick of Soda Springs, Idaho. James Church, he has held many leadership positions including includ-ing bishop, high councilman council-man and a councilor in a stake presidency. Both he and Beth served for many years in the Provo LDS Temple, with Leonard serving over 20 years as a sealer. He served many years in the Boy Scouts of America and received the Silver Beaver Award. Leonard's family has always al-ways been his first joy and concern, and he is greatly loved. There will be a family fam-ily celebration and dinner for his 90th birthday. Her great-grandparents are Glade and Collette Binks and Edwin and Beth Johnson, all of Springville, and Luva Hiatt of Payson. Trenten Eric Giles, son of Jeremy and Michelle Giles, will turn one year old on October 26, 2007. His grandparents are Eric and Cynthia Giles. He has one older brother, Brayden. .
