Show 11 SPRING VfLLE HERALD, Section 2, Thursday, July 112007 4, Pioneer Legacy Pigeant July 21 and 22 Celebrate Pioneer Day by taking part in the 7th annual Pioneer Legacy pageant to be staged in Springville July 21 and 22 this year. Entire families are invited to come participate - everyone from youngsters to grandparents can be used. Pageant participants will portray scenes described in the narration and songs, including pulling handcarts and playing pioneer games. You do not need to be able to sing or dance or memorize lines. There is no expense to participate, costumes are provided pro-vided if needed. The pageant depicts true events in the life of Elizabeth Jones Fox as she and her family made the trek westward.The pageant, which uses a unique blend of drama, song and dance, is produced by Lynne Thompson, owner and director of the Academy of Ballet. Main roles are filled by students at the studio, who have already begun rehearsing. For those who would like to take part in the pageant, sign-ups and auditions will be held Monday, July 17, at the Academy of Ballet located on the NE corner of 200 S. and Main in Springville. Rehearsals are very minimal, culminating in the two performances Friday and Saturday Satur-day nights. Each night the pageant begins at 9 p.m. On Friday night, the pageant will be preceded at 8 p.m. with a performance by Yarmarka, a Russian f olkdance group from Moscow currently here on a cultural exchange ex-change with the Academy of Ballet. Yarmarka features singers, dancers and musicians of the highest caliber who present folk music from various regions of Russia, using both traditional and modern instruments and choreography. choreogra-phy.
