The Mapleton City Trails Committee has partnered with the US Forest Service to apply for a 2008 trails grant with the state and federal government. Marcia Gillies, Natural Resourse Specialist with the US Forest Service, has been working with the committee on possible trails in the Maple Canyon that need improvement. The photo shows the Davis Family out for a walk on The Lower Left Fork Trail. This popular horse trail is a section that volunteers will be able to work with the Forest Service Trail Leaders on to widen it. The trail head is at the parking lot just as you enter Maple Canyon on the right side. The Lower Left Fork Trail is approximately one mile and winds its way back through the mountain until it comes to the group site at Whiting Campground. Maple Canyon is now open to the public to enjoy. In 1993 they became the Physical Therapy providers pro-viders at Mountain View Hospital in Payson and continue that aspect of their business today which includes all in-patient and out-patient physical therapy thera-py services. In 1998 Sumsion and Lambert opened a third location lo-cation in Orem at the new Timpanogas Regional Hospital, Hos-pital, providing a Private Out-patient Clinic and contracting con-tracting for the hospitals on-patients. As the business prospered pros-pered they became involved in-volved in the local community com-munity with support of Springville High School Athletic programs, Miss-Springville-Mapleton Pageant, Pag-eant, Springville FFA, Nebo Foundation (Green Fever Golf Tournament), and many local youth sports programs. Lambert was President of the Chamber Cham-ber and has served on the Chamber Board twice. Sumsion has been active in coaching youth sports. In 2002 PSTS moved to Children's Health Fair April 19 The Utah County Health Department (UCHD) will sponsor a health fair on April 19 for children up to age five. The "Under the Sea" Health Fair will take place from 10 a.m .to 2p.m. at the Utah County Health and Justice Building in Suite 1600, 151 S. University Ave, Provo. The event is free to the public. They employ 10 physical therapists, one cccupational therapist, one speech and language pathologist, two physical physi-cal therapy assistants and other supportive patient care staff as well as office personnel that really keep the ship floating.
