Show Thursday, February 1, 2007 SPRINGVILLE HERALD 13 Pam Trevenen get Crystal Apple Award at Sage Creek Mr. Craig Harvey of the Nebo Education Association As-sociation awarded Mrs. Pam Trevenen, first grade teacher at Sage Creek Elementary, El-ementary, with the sssoci-ation's sssoci-ation's prestigious Crystal Apple Award. Trevenen started her teaching career in 1987 at BrooksideElementary. She also taught first grade at Grant elementary before coming 'to Sage Creek in 1996. She is recognized and appreciated as the "go to" person for anything musical and has written songs, assemblies and par plllllpliifil illiiiiiiipi I Pam Trevenen oiynoc Dale Oakey Glen, Dale Oakey, age 53, of Springville, Utah, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007 of a pulmonary embolism. n He was born May 8, 1953 in Provo to Glen S. Oakey and LaRee Olsen. He married mar-ried Christine Binks on November No-vember 24, 1972 in Springville. Spring-ville. Dale served in the U.S. Navy for three years. Dale was currently employed em-ployed by Wing Enterprises Enterpris-es and was an extremely hard worker. Anyone who knew Dale knew that his family was the most important im-portant thing to him and he loved spending time with them. Dale was a "perfectionist" "per-fectionist" and took pride in everything he did. He was a member of the LDS Church. He is survived by his wife,- Christine; and children: chil-dren: Danielle Thatcher, Stephanie (Riley) Johnson, Scott Dale Oakey; seven grandchildren: Makayla, Brayden, Preston, Clay- Wendell Don Roundy July 10, 1940 -January 22, 2007 Wendell Don Roundy passed away suddenly at his home in Long view, Texas, on Sunday, Jan. 22, 2007. Wendell was born in Mapleton, Utah, to Don A. and Iris E. Roundy. He graduated from Spring- ville High School with a 4.0 GPA and attended Brigham Young University and Utah Trade Technical College. He was a "Jack of ALL trades" and worked as a general contractor, real estate agentbroker and a machinist. He was every bit the entrepreneur and owned several small businesses busi-nesses through-out his life. His last ventures included a pallet manufacturing com- ent presentations. Trevenen is an incredibly, incredi-bly, dedicated teacher. She is always taking classes to improve and gain more knowledge of how to reach each child in each subject. Early literacy is her expertise and she will soon receive her reading endorsement. She always takes a proactive pro-active approach to help that struggling student succeed not only in class but in life and often uses her personal time to tutor. He is also survived sur-vived by three brothers and three sisters: Venace Bird, Bert Oakey, Dan (Allison) Oakey, Kaylene (Mark) Brailsf ord, Steven (Tammy) Oakey, Marjo-rie Marjo-rie (Steve) Miller. He was preceded in death by his father, Glen S. Oakey, and mother, LaRee. Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 20. Burial was in the Springville Spring-ville City Cemetery. He is survived by three children, Dan (Anita) Roundy of Calhoun, Louisiana, Shad (Emilly) Roundy of Cape Canaveral, Florida and Kim (Lec) Holmes of Lehi, Utah; eight grandchildren and four freat-grandchildren. Funeral services were held in Kilgore, Texas, Satur- having my children in her first grade class. As a parent, par-ent, I appreciated how she treated my twin girls, allowing al-lowing them to be different differ-ent and grow and develop at their own rate. My girls were very different, both in personality and growth. Pam treated them with respect re-spect and love and made them both feel unique and wonderful. I have talked to my daughters about their first grade teacher and now, at 26 years old, they still have a great love and respect for Mrs. Trevenen." Trev-enen." Trevenen has been a tireless tire-less worker for the Nebo Reading Council. Last year she chaired their project called "Blankets and Books." This project Crystal Apple Award 2006-07 2006-07 goes to Amy Cannon Cherry Creek Elementary Elemen-tary teachers have selected Amy Cannon, kindergarten teacher, to be their choice as Crystal Apple Teacher for 2006-2007. Amy's teaching teach-ing career began at Grant Elementary in the fall of 2001 as a 1st grade teacher. In August 2005, she completed com-pleted her Master of Education Edu-cation degree with a mathematics math-ematics endorsement. Her past extra school assignment assign-ment has been School Community Com-munity Council facilitator and faculty hospitality committee com-mittee member. Her principal, Mark Balzotti, has so much confidence con-fidence in her that he has appointed her as mentor, teacher to the new lower grade teachers. One new teacher said, "Amy is awesome! awe-some!
