Section 2 Thursday, Honmber 16, 2006 'PMlMIUMDry- Lady Red Devil Soccer Awards On November 7th, the Lady Red Devil Soccer Awards Banquet was held to recognize the girls' performance per-formance in the 2006 season. sea-son. Rachel Fischer beat the defense and the keeper on a solo breakaway off a drop kick from Sadie Clemens Cle-mens in the first half. The goal held up for a great win. It looked as though the girls would go through to the semi-finals in the next game against defending champions Wood Cross. Natalie Young scored a sizzling one-touch goal in the third minute off a brilliant bril-liant pass from Fischer who beat three defenders to the ball. Unfortunately, Woods Cross came from behind to overtake Spring-ville Spring-ville and then the season was over. The Lady Red Devil Basketball Team for the 2006-2007 season consists of Samantha Al-vey Al-vey (11), Kate Anderson (12), Holli Averett (10), Genna Brown (10), Ashley Ash-ley Calder (10), Sadie Clements Cle-ments (9), Ashley Erek-son Erek-son (12), Hailey Francis (11) , Brandi Hillock (10), Kay la Hudman (11), Lexi Huffaker (10), Alison Jensen (12), Karlie Jensen Jen-sen (11), Covi King (10), Heidi Kriser (9), Ashley Kroneberger (10), Jade Lewis (10), Laken Lewis (12) , Kenzie Lott (10), Ashley Sorensen (10), Taylor Steed (10), Shayne Stevens (12), and Kaylyn Swanson(ll). Varsity player and sophomore, soph-omore, Lindsay Barker, said this about the team's overall season, "We did okay; we had really good and bad games, but overall, over-all, we improved a lot. This year at State we did better than last year, but it was a hard way to end a pretty good season." Audrey Baer, senior, said this about the team's performance at state, "We did pretty good, our team is so talented, but at the end we had a hard time sticking together."
