Starting with the Community Talent Festival on Saturday, June 4, the outdoor stage will also be the vanue for the Children's Fun-A-Rama June 9, the Teen ExtravaganzaMovie that evening; the Peter Breinholt Concert June 10, and the 23rd. Army Band concert, magician and fireworks Saturday, June 11. The Arts Park is located at 620 S. 1350 East, north of Springville High School. Talent contest June 4 new to Art City Days A new FREE event featuring featur-ing local talent will help kick off the 2005 Art City Days celebration on Saturday, June 4, at 7 p.m. Everyone is invited to enjoy this evening of exceptional talents. Winners of a recent talent audition will perform as part of the 2005 Springville Community Com-munity Talent Festival on Saturday at the outdoor amphitheater am-phitheater at the Spring Acres Arts Park, 620 S. 1350 East (just northeast of Springville High School). Admission Ad-mission is free. The event is sponsored by the Springville Arts Commission. Master of ceremonies for the event will be KSL-TV news anchor Bruce Lindsay. Auditions for the talent "Noises Off" starts Friday at Playhouse The Springville Playhouse (THE BEST KEPT SECRET IN UTAH COUNTY), located UNDER the Springville Library at 50 S. Main, is excited to present, the well-loved, side-splitting comedy "Noises Off" for Art City Days. Directed by Maureen Eastwood, the show runs June 3, 4, 6, 9, 10, 11, 13, 17 and 18 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $6 adult, $5 studentseniorchild, and $25 for a family of 6 people or less. Tickets are sold at the door or in advance at the Springville Public Library front desk. Group rates are available for groups of 20 or more people call Gena at (801) 623-9595. Theatre goers, thespians and lovers of comedy, will not want to miss this production that has been hailed by the N.Y. Post as being "the funniest farce ever written." If you have ever wondered what goes on behind be-hind the stage during a show, this mockery of a play tells it all. Plan to hoot, howl, giggle, snicker and bark with laughter as you watch the travesty unfold. The talented and seasoned cast of actors includes; Robinne Booth, Lon Keith, Karl Young, Erica Baxter, El-won El-won Bakly, Brittni Bills, David Smith, Amos Omer and Lisa Kuhni. Also, come and admire the beautifully crafted set designed de-signed and built by local retired Springville High School Drama Teacher Roger Nelson. The festival was open to students kindergarten through 12th grade who reside re-side in Springville and Mapleton. The performers auditioned in four categories: vocal, instrumental, piano and dance. Judging was based on audience au-dience appeal, entertainment value, stage presence, originality origi-nality and ability. The Springville Playhouse and the Little Brown Theatre are both offering theatrical productions and the Children's Chil-dren's Parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 10, at Grant Elementary School. Booksale this week atlibrary Because the Springville Library Li-brary will be closed two days during Art City Days (Monday, (Mon-day, June 6, and Saturday, June 11), the Friends of the Library won't be having their traditional Saturday book sale on the 1 1th. However, you can still find great book buys in the used book store and lobby Tuesday Tues-day through Friday, where tables willbe set up to accommodate ac-commodate hundreds of books for children and adults, magazines, videos and books on tape. With a few exceptions for best-sellers and oversized books, hardbacks and videos are $1, paperbacks and children's chil-dren's hardbacks are 50 cents, children's paperbacks are 25 cents, and magazines (except National Geographic) are 10 cents.
