On Saturday, Mar. 5, a group of bright students in the Springville area gathered for a motivational day at Springville High School. The day was started at the early hour of 8 a.m., and all of the students were offered juice, milk and donut at the door. In the gymnasium many booths were set up to five demonstrations and andouts. The girls were in lines at the Bon Losee and Paul Mitchell hair school booths getting complimentary hair styles, and the boys were learning about Utah County Health Promotions. Materials were available on heart disease prevention, tobacco awareness, injury prevention and substance abuse prevention. Just before be-fore 9 a.m., the Kaesung Martial Arts group of Springville City did several demonstrations. Many different dif-ferent levels of martial arts were shown, and the ages of the participants varied. All the kids were rallied up and brought to the auditorium to begin the conference. Keri Gordon welcomed everyone, and introduced a theme video. The video included in-cluded a series of up-lifting quotes and an introduction to the conference.
