Commenting on the lockdown drill, SHS senior Ashley Box said, "It made me nervous when they were explaining where to hide, but it also made me reel safer." Many students felt uneasy practicing the drill, while it did not even seem to faze others. oth-ers. Junior Samantha Carly reported, "I didn't did-n't think about the probability of it actually happening, so the drill wasn t a big deal to me.'v While many people were taking the lock-down lock-down situation seriously, others were not. Mike Buzbee, a junior, remarked, "It was hard to take it seriously because I couldn't imagine a real situation occurring." Another junior, Casey Cloward said, "It didn't seem very serious because a lot of people peo-ple were joking around about it." Though many people did joke around about the lockdown drill, it was still a success, suc-cess, with the student body and faculty learning the appropriate way to handle a threatening situation. While the Springville High School administration adminis-tration does not anticipate the need to use the lockdown drill, they feel that it is an essential Rrocedure that the students need to know ow to execute properly if a situation were to ever arise.
