Show 13 SPRINGVILLE HERALD Thursday, May 5, 2004 Obituaries Brace Clyde Holdaway Bruce Gyde Holdaway, 57, our beloved husband, dad and grandpa, returned to his heavenly heav-enly father on April 29, 2004 in Springville, Utah. He was born May 1, 1946 in Provo, Utah to Clyde Amos and Delphia Fransen Holdaway. Hold-away. He spent his childhood years in Vineyard, until moving mov-ing to Payson where he obtained ob-tained his high school diploma. diplo-ma. He married the love of his life, Colleen Brailsf ord, on July 11, 1975. Their marriage was later solemnized in the SLC IDS temple. Bruce worked for Springville City for 32 years, where he had the opportunity to get out and socialize with people which he loved to do. Everyone will remember re-member him for his sense of humor hu-mor and outgoing attitude. - Some of Bruce's hobbies include in-clude fishing, entering contests, vacationing, spending time with family, serving his church callings, call-ings, and going on special drives dri-ves with his wife. He is survived by his friend, his lover, and his soul mate, Colleen Brailsford Holdaway. He is also survived by his nine children: Toni (Kelly) Day, R. Heath (Vanessa Shelley) Holdaway, Hold-away, Bruce (Stephanie Peter- Albert B. Giddings Albert Baker Giddings, 88, affectionately af-fectionately known as "Daddy Al" returned to his heavenly father fa-ther on April 30, 2004 in Springville, Utah. He was born August 12, 1915 in Ohio to Henry Hen-ry Giddings and Nina Baker. He spent his childhood years growing grow-ing up on the family farm in Ohio. He married his sweetheart, Icamae Adams, on February 12, 1942 in Florida just 10 months before being called up to active duty and serving four years in the Army, he fought in the Pacific Pa-cific Theater during World War II. Roper, beloved husband, hus-band, father, brother and friend, died unexpectedly in Springville, Utah at the age of 53. Max was born on July 28, 1950 in Delta, the sixth child of Vernon B. And Erma L. Roper. Max attended school in Springville and graduated from Springville High School in 1968 where he was an avid athlete, excelling in baseball and football. foot-ball. Max married Teri Killpack on November 1, 1968 and fathered four children. They later divorced. di-vorced. On June 2, 1995, Max married mar-ried Patsy Curtis with whom he spent many wonderful years. Max was a talented and resourceful person who owned a construction company compa-ny and, later a reupholstering business, with clients throughout through-out the West. Max also served his country in the National Guard during the Vietnam War. Max's great love, besides be-sides his family, were his horses and ranchette in Mapleton. He became an expert ex-pert horse trainer. Max was greatly loved and appreciated by all that knew him for his dry, mischievous sense of humor and his willingness willing-ness to help friends and neighbors. neigh-bors. He will be greatly missed by many friends, including his "second" daughters: Sarah and Megan Heaps, and Doreen (Liwy) Call. Max is survived by his wife Patsy; his children: Leesa (Trent) Dunn, Brad Roper, Mol ley (Layne) Wiley, and Mandy Kennard; stepchildren: Ashley (Jason) Walker, Curt (Lacey) Daily, and Christopher Daily; three sisters: LuJean (LeRay) McAllister, Janece Roper Tol- Springville Utah in 1990. Daddy Al was a very gifted gift-ed musician; he played the Mandolin by ear. Bluegrass was his favorite type of country music. He was part of the Silver Strings, a group that performed at many charitable events and church functions. He is survived by his Great Niece Cheri and her husband, John Mauss, and Great-Great NiecesNephew, Ashley Lindsay and A J Mauss, all of Springville; his sister, Virginia Gill of Rome, Ohio; and many other nieces and nephews.
