His grandparents are Ross and Lorraine Steffens, Rob and Kathryn Rowley and Chuck and Vivian Swegle. Her great-grandparents are Andrew and Rula Nielsen, Dan Bagley and Ma urine Lowery, all of Springville. X Trey G. Johnston, son of Michelle Johnston of Springville Sprin-gville and Corey Johnston of Spanish Fork, turned one year old Jan. 28, 2004. His grandparents are Diane Miller of Springville and the late Leroy Miller, Gary and Judi Johnston of Spanish Span-ish Fork and Mike Evans of Spanish Fork. He has a brother, Nash. , Keri Lyn Guinn, daughter of Bill and Sue Guinn of Springville, Utah will marry Peter Michael Crossley, son of Glenn and Sue Crossley of Redmond, Washington on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004. A reception will honor the couple that evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Deer Creek Island Resort near Heber, Utah. They would like friends of Keri and Pete to join them to celebrate with the bride and groom. Keri enjoyed playing in a variety of community and school activities. Her favorite favor-ite memories include playing soccer, Softball , and competing in track where she set a state record with her relay team in the Utah Summer Sum-mer Games. Keri is a natural performer and lias had parts in many school and community plays, beginning when she was four years old. During her experience at Springville High School, where she graduated, she also performed with several choir groups. Her service with Seminary Council helped strengthen her testimony, wnich she then shared with Pete. Pete was born in Eastern Pennsylvania. Later his family moved to the Seattle, Washington Wash-ington area. He graduated from East Lake Keri Lyn Guinn Peter Crossley to marry Sat. Announcement is made by Mr. and Mrs. Roice N. Krueger of Springville, Utah of the engagement of their daughter, Mauni, to Scott Macdonald, son of Mr. and Mrs. Doug Macdonald of Farmington. The couple plans to be married on Friday, Jan. 30, 2004 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. A celebration will be held in their honor that evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at 1050 S. 1700 East, Springville. An open house will be held the following evening at the Davis County Golf Course from 6 to 8 p.m. All family and friends are invited to attend the reception. Mauni is a graduate of Springville High School and is attending Utah Valley State College. She is currently employed at Vani ty. Art exhibit Health notes Keri Lyn Guinn-Peter Crossley High School where he earned the Golden Acorn Award. He also played trumpet in the high school band. He was an avid scouter and earned the Eagle Scout Award. One of his other talents is skiing, and as a member of the U.S. Ski Team he competed in aerials. The couple will reside in Seattle, where Keri has been working at Microsoft. Pete is employed by a software development and marketing company. They will be sealed in the LDS temple this coming summer on the anniversary of Pete's baptism. Five generations of the Doris II. Halverson family got together to get their picture taken. He is attending Brigham Young University and is currently employed at the Missionary Training Center. The couple will make their home in Provo. The Utah County Health Department has a Women's Clinic that is dedicated 'o th early detection of breast and cervical cancer. Through the Utah Cancer Control Program Pro-gram (UCCP) and the Center for Disease Control (CDC), they are able to offer free or low cost clinical breast exams ex-ams and pap smears, as well as free mammogram vouchers vouch-ers to women who qualify. The services are performed by female nurse1:. It is estimated that this year in the UnLed States, there will be approximately 215,990 new cases of invasive inva-sive breast cancer and 40,580 deaths from the disease. Though the number of new cases increases each year, the percentage of deaths has stayed about the same, even showing signs of declining. Through better awareness and early detection, more women are getting screened. When something is found early, treatment options are better and more effective. Women diagnosed with and treated for early stage breast cancer have a five-year five-year survival rate of 97. DUP news Camp Springville Daughters Daugh-ters of Utah Pioneers met at the home of Mary Chakarun recently. Karen Hooper was co-hostess. Captain Joy Pinckney was in charge of the meeting, and a personal history was given by Sherel Nielson. Nancy Cowley gave the lesson on the Pioneers of Weber County, telling how Peter Skeen Ogden helped the pioneers when they came to that valley. Sanpete County artist Kaziah Hancock is having an exhibit of her works at the Utah County Courthouse Gallery, 51 S. University Avenue in Provo from Jan. 31 to Mar. 4 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
