V' I"' ' Turkey Toss Jov. 15at SHS The 15th Annual Football Throw will take place Satur day, Nov. 15 at 10 a.m. in the Springville High School Main Gym. The football throw will be for accuracy. Each participant partici-pant will throw the football 10 times attempting to throw the ball through ? tire. Prizes will be given jnd the participants partici-pants with th'i greatest accuracy accu-racy will win a turkey. Participants will be broken bro-ken down into their respective respec-tive grade: 3rd & 4th grade, 5th & 6th grade, 7th & 8th grade, 9th & 10& grade and 11th & 12th grade. Hunter Education class starting A Hunter Education class will be held starting Dec. 2 and running Tuesdays and Wednesdays, Dec. 2, 3, 9. 10, 16 and 17 at the Division of Wildlife Resources Office at 115 N. JHansen, Chelsea Hansen, Camberlie girls' ' City Vollejfball ends i. ' The Girls' City Volleyball program ended its season last week. The league began back it September. It was open to ?U 6th-12 grade girls. Unlike Softball and basketball, this 9ity sports program allows the girls to choose their own team, as well as coach. The feague is made up of two divisions. The minors consisted con-sisted of 6-8th graders and fie majors were made up of -12th graders. f Scholarship fund-raiser I The annual Scholarship fundraiser and Congressional Report is scheduled for Saturday, Sat-urday, Nov. 15, at the Provo Marriott Hotel Ballroom. Evette Lee's team went the entire season undefeated and took first place in minor division. This team consisted of Brittney Lee (8), Kaylyn Swanson (8), Karlie Jensen (8), Sheena Frazier (8), Hailey Francis (8), Trina Ercanbrack (8) and Anisa Andrus (8). In the majors, Colleen Coronado 's team placed first. They were the second place team in league play. The members of that team were Toni Coronado (11), Maranda Mar-anda Carter (11), Nicole Mason (11), Shari Weight (11), Kjersti Jones (8) and Debbie Shepherd. Four special awards were presented to Donna Schofi-eld, Schofi-eld, Sherry Robinson, Jessica Spencer and Monica Gibson for their service as referees. The program is run through the city recreation department with Linda Lewis as the organizer and director. "It is evident that there is a need for volleyball in our community," says Lewis. "This year there were twelve full teams that participated. What is exciting for me is to see these girls become enthused en-thused over this great team sport. It is also interesting to note that the majority of the girls playing on our high school's team have participated participat-ed in this city program and it has been that way for the past several years." Lewis thanks all the parents who supported their daughters and who helped with the scorekeeping. The program was very successful and the girls had a great experience.
