Show The Springville Red Devils hosted the Mt. View Bruins football team Thursday night and the Bruins were glad to see the final seconds of the game tick off as the Red Devils beat the Bruins 48-14. The first quarter Zac Erekson caught a 29 yd TD pass from Aaron Jensen and Justin Simkin's PAT was good for a score of 7-0. Mt. View's QB was sacked by Dan Bulow and they had to punt. Jensen hit Erekson on a 45-yd pass play and a personal foul penalty against MV put the ball on the 3 yd line. Erekson ran in for the TD. Simkin's PAT was good again-14-0. The MV QB then got sacked by Steve Lavaki and Seth Wright. In the second quarter, Jensen hit Simkins on a 39 yd TD pass and Simkins' PAT was good-21-0. MV got to mid-field with a pass completion and a face mask penalty on Springville. MV got to the 8 yd line on a long pass and MV scored on a run into the end zone. The PAT was blocked by Robbie Barnes21-6. On Springville's next possession, posses-sion, Jensen, had a 24 yd again. Ked Devils shock Timpview On Thursday, the Springville High School girls' soccer team upset second ranked Timpview 4-3 4-3 on a hat trick by McKenzie Joyner. Springville took over on downs and with blocking by Eric Nance, Erekson ran to the 40 yd line. Bulow caught a Jensen pass to the MV 42 yd line. With more great blocking Erekson ran 34 yds to the 6 yd line. Erekson ran the ball to the 1 yd line and Jensen kept the ball for the TD.
