Show SOCIAL EVENTS Jackie Giles, Joel Burkhart temple vows Eric and Cynthia Giles of Springville, Utah, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Jackie, to Joel Lyle Burkhart, son of Lyle and DeAnn Burkhart of Salt Lake City. The couple plans to be married on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Jackie graduated from Springville High School and LDS Seminary. She is attending the University of Utah studying photography. Joe! graduated from Olympus High School and IDS Seminary in Salt Lake. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ in Santiago, Santia-go, Chile, South Mission. He is also attending the U of U. Harris, father of Terri, Jonna, Richard, Steven, Cynthia, Kevin and Kimberly. The couple plans to be married on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002, in the Mount Timpanogos LDS Temple for time. Friends and relatives are invited to attend an open house in their honor that evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Hobble Creek West Stake Center, 555 S. 600 East, Averett Ave., Springville. Diamond are pleased to announce their parent's 64th wedding anniversary on Aug. 31, 2002. The Diamonds were married Aug. 31, 1938, in Salt Lake City and have lived in their Springville home since that time. - Jim has worked with livestock his entire life and continues to enjoy farming assisted by his son, Larry. Ruth retired from Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in 1986 after working there for 30 years. She enjoys reading and being with her family. , L Their children are James L. Jr. (Florence), Carolyn D. Shepherd Shep-herd and Larry (Mary). They have 13 grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren. great-grandchildren. They will be honored at a family dinner. Stephen Cooper Loveridge, son of Wes and Carla Loveridge of Elk Rdge, turned one year old Aug. 25, 2002. His grandparents grandpar-ents are John and Clare Peter-son Peter-son of Mapleton and Kathy Loveridge of Elk Ridge and the late Steve Loveridge. His great-grandparents great-grandparents are Lucille Peterson Peter-son of Springville and the late Carl Peterson. He has an older brother, Haden. Haley Almeida; Jordan Wood temple wedding Greg and Dixie Wood of Springville, Utah, are pleased to announce the engagement of their son, Jordan Gregory, to Haley Catherine Almeida, Almei-da, daughter of Dr. Donald and Hillary Almeida of Littleton, Colorado. The couple were married on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2002, in the Bountiful LDS Temple. A reception will be held in their honor on Friday, Sept. 6, at the Vernon home, 956 S. 2400 East, Springville. Heather graduated from Niwot High School in Longmont, Colorado. She earned a minor in chemistry and is now working on a degree in computer science at Brigham Young University. Matt graduated from Springville High School and served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ in Maracaibo, Venezuela. He is pursuing a degree in chemistry at BYU. Matt and Heather met in a chemistry lab where they were lab partners.
