Show Voluntoeirs honoiredl ait banquet January 31, 2001 - The Springville Herald - Page Three Republican women Sisters Amy Klauck and Evelyn Eve-lyn Wolsey were honored for their years of service at the Springville Spri-ngville Museum of Art during the Hafen-Dallin Volunteer Banquet last week. They received the Distinguished Service Award, a plaque and roses. In presenting the award, Dr. Sharon Gray, education director at the museum, said, "Amy and Evelyn are the Wednesday morning morn-ing dependable people whose service makes a difference in making the museum accessible to the public." ' 1" --If- 4Jf Honored with the Youth Service Award was Jennifer Gardner, this year's Art Queen. Jennifer has a long list of accomplishments. accom-plishments. She also serves as Mayor of the Springville Youth Council and is a National Merit Scholar semi-finaMst. She has been a member of the Jr. Art Guild all through high school. All of the volunteers and docents who give of their time and talents at the museum were honored and recognized. "The museum could not run without all of you," said Brent Haymond, president of the Art Board. Traci Fieldsted is the new president of the Hafen-Dallin Guild. Debbie Balzotti is the outgoing president. She presented a check for $5,000 from the guild to go toward the Centennial Wing. Arianne Namelka is the president-elect. Haymond announced that the past year was the greatest ever for cash donations. Almost $80-0,000 $80-0,000 has been donated toward completing the new wing. He said that this money will be used for the climate control, lighting, a stairwell, the elevator and rough framing of offices. "Our goal is to complete the new wing by Oct. of this year, in time for the Cultural Olympiad which will feature an exhibition of art works by 150 Utah artists, living and dead." said Haymond. Hay-mond. Guests viewed the recent acquisitions to the museum's permanent collection, those works that were donated, traded or purchased during the past year. There are 75 new works valued at $307,550 according to Museum Director Vern Swanson. He said that 47 of those pieces were donated. Jay fiLz I ' Utah County Commissioners will give a report on our county's achievements in 2000 and their goals for 2001 at the Feb. 5 meeting of Republican Women at noon at the Provo City Center in the Mayors Council Chambers, 351 Center Street. Utah County has had the most efficient and effective government in the state and is recognized as one of the most frugal and financially finan-cially responsible counties in the Nation. Traci has been active in volunteer volun-teer work at the museum for many years. At the dinner, the guild officers donated a check for $5,000 to the museum for use in the new wing addition. Guild members volunteer their time at. the museum and also work on fundraisers for the museum. Arianne Namelka is the president-elect. (pita Is quilting your hobby?
