UnitedHealth Group, a national health care services group, released re-leased the eleventh annual UnitedHealth Unit-edHealth Group State Health Rankings at the American Public Health Association's 128th Annual Annu-al Meeting in Boston. With the exception of Utah's 1999 ranking of 6th, Utah has always ranked among the top five states. Among the 50 states, Utah ' has the lowest prevalence of smoking with 14.0 of population, the lowest risk for heart disease at 20 percent below the national average, the fewest limited activity activi-ty days with 2.7 days a month and the fewest cancers with 239.5 cases per 100,000. Each classroom conducted a bee using the questions developed by the National Geographic Society. The top scoring students from the classroom bees met for the School Geography Bee on January 10. These students were John Allen, Thomas Ballard, Brook Comstock, Sarah McQueen, Matthew Merrill, Nathan Richey, Michael Salisbury, Sam Snow, Garrett Thompson, Andrew Whiting and Tyler Wilson. The school winner was Nathan Richey, right.-Matthew right.-Matthew Merril, left, came in second place. Nathan completed a test of 70 questions to qualify for the State Bee. The 100 highest scores in Utah will be called together for a State Geography Geogra-phy Bee in April. The National Bee will be in May. Participation in the arts helps students to develop skills and values that are highly prized by our society, including individual initiative, self-sufficiency, job skills, teamwork and communication skills, patience, focus and self-confidence.
