I had never read any of his books and thought they may be a little old fashioned and I would be bored. However, Grey was one of my father's favorite authors, and so, in honor of my father, 1 read "Women of the Frontier." (Susan Phclan) finds out anyway and demands that Sheriff Zeke (Scott Tarbet) arrest Flo (Ann Jackson) immediately. Meanwhile. Tilly's boyfriend Max (Niels Adair) returns from Korea to romance his honey, but ends up in a rumble to protect his honor. Local characters Bob, (Mike Huffaker) and Flo's card-playing card-playing cohorts Bonnie (Arlene McGregor) and Eloise (Joan Shippcn) add some flavor to the diner's bill of fare. They found the plot to be to controversial and felt the characters didn't Ftt the Western stereotypes-stereotypes that Grey himself established earlier in his career. The book was published two times in altered al-tered form before being published in its entirety the way the author intended. This is a wonderful history of a family and their part in settling the American West. I found it to he a story that men and women would enjoy equally as well, and is good reading for those who love the history of our young nation. We have a large collection of western books, so you have lots to choose from. We have 64 of Zane Grey's books in our collection, collec-tion, with many of them in hard back.
